A lot of it was also to do with the types of heroes that were mid then. Like, Shadow Shaman used to be a solo-mid hero as well.

Rubik just doesn't need that much room. He only needs a well timed level 7, and an alright timed mobility item and he is set for game. And well, Mid would give him way more than that, when said space could go on something better like Leshrac or Shadow Fiend

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

Well I see nothing that mid Rubick does that support Rubick doesn't do just as well.

When you play a support mid, you need to have huge added value in doing that. Mid Leshrac can get an early Bloodstone and wreck the mid-game. Mid Shadow Shaman can get an early Aghs-refresher and push hard. Mid Warlock...same.

But mid Rubick...well sure he gets a faster Aghs than support Rubick...but how is this game-changing? Support Rubick gets his Aghs anyways, just later. So...you get nothing more from playing him mid.

Mid lane is for level-dependent heroes. Rubick is one of the most level-INdependent heroes in the game, since he's not stronger in any way at level 25 than he is at level 7.

Your midlaner can't have the impact of a support (no damage output, no pushing ability, and no solo pickoff)...otherwise you fckin lost.

Want to get your Aghanim's Scepter in every game on a support Rubick? Either farm creep waves with Soul Ring + Fade Bolt or get a <15 minute Hand of Midas. There, farming problem solved.

I play Rubick as a mid anyway, so money isn't much of an issue. My favourite non-ult spell to steal? Well besides Fissure and Meat Hook (Too obvious) ima have to give my favourites in certain situations.

Astral Imprisonment is very funny to use on the enemy OD. He steals ur intel? Steal it right back.

Mana Drain is just plain good in mid lane to negate the mana cost of Fade Bolt.

Shockwave is great harass, and you can use it better than Magnus.

Shackles for obvious reasons.

Sacred Arrow another spell that is buffed by Rubick's cast animation.

Phase Shift is always useful for ez jukes

Blink because blinking.

Magic Missile such a good stun to have.

I really want to get FV off my favourites and replace with le Rubick

one of the big changes too is that supports now actually get money.

in the past passive gold gain was way less, now you see hard farmed 4 position supports.

Does no one like stealing Devour?

If you eat a wildwing, you don't have enough slots to get all the abilities... :P
