So hi guys unscathed here with a question.

Is escape necessary to the offlane? Could one just play safely, sap levels peacefully without an escape?

Same goes durability. Is that really necessary for a hero to offlane well?

Sorry for short post but thats all of it for now.

How are you going to play safely against a trilane, or a good double lane?

Enemy support just walks past the creepwave and starts zoning you out. No way to respond = enjoy your lvl 1 and 0 farm.

Or he just hides behing the trees ready to **** you up if you come closer. Your actions if you are just an average hero not suited for offlaning?

You kinda need a mixture of the two to offlane.

Like, passive exp sapping is fine in theory, but the issue is laning never works out that way against competent supports, who'll stack and pull and harrass you out and keep you from having an exp. So you usually need to ability to get up close, or to contest the pull (Or have your own ability to manipulate creep equilibrium like Fissure or Power Cogs) And if you are getting forward to does these things, you need a way to then get out. Essentially get the trade off of risk against exp.

I think offlaners generally just need to be heroes with either a semi-strong laning presence (Like Clockwerk), or heroes who need so little from the lane before they can make action happen elsewhere (Like Spirit Breaker). Escape abilites are nice because it lets you be more aggresive in lane, and thus get more exp.

But, I guess a lot of it depends more on the lane you'l be offlaning against? Like, a really passive lane can have a weak offlaner, because you can get proportionately more from the lane (Like the recent trend of offlane Earthshaker), whereas really strong lanes often require offlaners who have places to fall back to.

But Idk. Someone who knows the offlane better than me can probably elaborate better.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

Offlane Zeus used to be a thing. Is durable or has an escape? God no. Like sanvitch said, the reason why he can be played is that he can keep the creeps equilibrium. Thus way he's a bit more safe but still a target of choice cause its a ******** zeus.
