So I am tryimg to be a somewhat decent dota 2 player. Personally I think I am pretty good even though I am pretty reckless at my positioning.

So name a currently popular hero in the pro scene guys. I dont watch pro games much but I think I have a bit understanding on it.

So name a currently popular hero guys, and I will do a scrub analysis on it. Please tell me if I am correct in my analysis or not.

Well first of all I just realized that her bufs goes waay back to 4 patches ago (much more i think). It seems that people started to play hom since the 6.83 era where she got a buff to Blink.

QoP of Pain, from a china qualifier match I saw earlier today, got a good turnaround Sonic Wave that eventually won them the game. QoP's ultimate pierces magic immunity too. Early on with roughly 300 pure damage she could eat a chunk of the enemy's HP. The pierce magic immunity part also made her relevant late game where 500 pure damage thatierces BKB could potentially destroy 25% of the enemy team's HP.

Her Blink is a really strong mobility spell when paired up with late game items like Scythe of Vyse and the early game buff improves her laning significantly as the skillbuilds used to be awkward (pls no flamerino).

With the early fight meta she could deathball the enemy team and end the game quickly. Her Blink+Ulti combo also enables her to be a quite strong high ground defend that punishes her enemy's positioning. (pls no flamerino) and she could still be a scary hero lategame with Blink+Sheep+Wave(pls no flamerino)

Short: I think it is mostly the buffs she receive(pls no flamerino)

I realized that I sound like a smart*** and I want to be a P.Hd on a video game. Woah.

Gyrocopter - One of the most common first pick/first ban heroes this meta.

As for your QoP analysis, you missed out the fact she's incredibly versatile. She can play any role from 1-4, and justtify just about any item build.

Oh and she's a really strong laner, which is important in a meta game where the laning stage often decides the entire game.

Well this patch gyro got an awesome Rocket Barrage buff with Cast Point removal that makes his early game incredibly strong and this is significant with the deathbally meta. Last patch he also got a Call Down buff with the larger radius, which makes high ground siege, especially in this meta, much easier now.

As for the 'comeback hero' title, I dont really get it. Well, he has a farming ability, so that alone make him am exceptional comeback hero? I've been seeing this term for a while now and I dint really get it.

Yeah, Storm Spirit and Slark aren't really in the meta. SS is in more so than slark (Slarks only had 44 competitive games this patch with a 38% winrate).

Mmm... I think kinda right? Gyro is more to do with favourable meta shifts than the direct buffs (The Rocket Barrage buff was like the Ogre Magi buff, not the thing that made him fabulous, just what made people take notice of him.)

Since Gyrocopter is all about early game power, and essentially death ball, given like most of the traditional BKB carries, he has a lot of early power due to his nuking potential, but has a period in the mid-game where he's weak due to a lack of damage, and being squishy. However the meta being deathball focused means that this period of down time is a lot smaller, and thus the hero becomes stronger.

I've never heard him called a comeback hero however.
