Couldn't think of a better title than this, but in short Valve have actually announced relatively huge changes to the competitive scene.

http://www.dota2.com/majors/

In essence, there will now be 4 major Valve sponsored tournies through-out the year, rather than just TI. Which in turn increases the amount of potential prestege for teams to win around the year, and gives more major tournaments for the scene to care about.

And arguably more important is the suggestion of a transfer window of sorts, since as anyone whose follows the competitive scene can probably testify to, there has been a massive amount of roster changes in recent months, almost to the extent that organisations have stopped being important things to follow, and simply players instead.

But yeah, it's a pretty big change, that I think will only benefit the scene in the long run. It's been long overdue for a greater sense of centralized regulation in the competitive scene, and this is a great start.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

this **** is ****ING AWESOME

ARGGHHHHH CANT WAIT

im thinking

ESL or European championship tournament

then their will be ofc the international

then DAC

then im thinking maybe like a Oceania one maybe?

dunno

but heres what i can forsee

with the advent of 4 recognised VALVE back tourneys and a trade window we will see a stabalisation fo the pro scene. Teams will be less focused on "lower" level tourneys and leagues and will focus on the main ones leaving the lower level games for amatuer teams. managers will force a standard roster and players will have more time in a team to practice. this will bring with it a more focused pro scene not liable to winning to stay around.

we wont have "teams " we will have TEAMS like Manchester united. for example Secret will have a pro "MAJOR" team and many teams under its banner playing in the lower levels like premier and divison 1. players will sign on to " corporation" rather then an individual team with their skill allowing for trade figures and purchasing of players. like buying puppey from secret and returning him to NAVI for say 2 million or so.

by having this trade window the scene will be in a more cyclic fashion with meta changes fitting in with the cyclic pro scene surounding the tourneys. players will less leave teams on thier terms and more be BOUGHT by other teams.

the best thing i forsee from this is really really simple.

easier choice.

teams are forced to play tourneys now to pay players who if they dont win dont get paid. which is a bad situation. being forced to do something because if you dont you dont get paid forces players to play many tourneys and place undue stress on them to win. with MAJOR tourneys being created salaries will become a more viable options for team organisations. instead of saying " we need you win win at least X amount of tourneys this year and we will pay you X amount of money" they will start to say " X tournament is upcoming we will pay you X amount for this season until the tourney" salaries and the like will become more mainstream.

the choice between HAVING to play and WANTING to play is huge and with these new changes the WANTING to choice will be made easier.

I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL.... WITH FLUFFY BUNNIES
