Hey there, my name is Nubtrain and I'm offering free Replay Analyse service of your games to those of you who want to improve at Dota 2. I'm currently a consistent 4.9k player and have hit about 5050 mmr at one point albeit briefly (So I'm pretty ok at Dota 2!). I'm not claiming to be an insanely good player but I am saying I'm pretty good at Dota 2.
First and foremost, you must understand that Dota 2 is a strategy game, meaning it's strategy over mechanics versus another game like Counter-Strike where it's more mechanics than strategy. So what we'll focus on is the decision making and thought process behind your actions. Getting better mechanically comes with time and improves tremendously when you have experience and knowledge to back it up.
What I need from you is:
A dotabuff link to a replay that is NOT expired
Must be a game when you've played poorly win or loss, no roflstomped games or it'll be pointless
Your MMR so I have an idea of what level the game is
A description on what you think went wrong and what you think should've happened
That's it! I'll post a video of the analyse and hope you guys enjoy.
Why am I doing this?
IMO, mentoring each and every individual player is incredibly time consuming. More likely than not some players have the same issues as other players for different situations. So if I go over a replay and it happens to be very similar to a game you've played, it's essentially coaching multiple people at once. Even if it's not, it could be something you have yet to realize so bring in those replays! I'll try to do one per day but finals are coming up and I might not have time to commit to everyday.
I would like then to hear your insight on this one where absolutely everything went wrong, starting from Qop killing me 3 times in lane and ending up being stunned by Lion just a nanosecond before activating BKB.
My version: it all went downhill from the very beginning beause we had 3(!) support heroes and zero wards in the whole gme which resulted in QoP getting easy kills on me. I aslo heavily underestimated Unduying once. Entering early midgame with 0/4/0, no items and potentially mined jungle was no fun at all, so I gave up and just tried to AFK farm for a BKB, yet even there my "supports" "helped" me by stealing neurtals and contesting lasthits both in lane and in jungle. Then I was impaled just the moment before it had to activate(I alrady pressed the hotkey) and my will to play the match dropped to zero - I just wanted Pudge to finish the game. Worst win ever.
I think I couldn't do anything in the start despite being more careful with Unduying, the rest 3 deaths could have only been avoided if I had vison on QoP which I didn't have. Or just sitting in the trees near my tower every time she wasn't on the map. After that I just played with heavily tilted and did a lot of ********, I don't regret AFK farming though, I think it was the right thing to do in that situation.
MMR is 2880, but the game was non-ranked and was played in High Skill bracket which is around 3100 AFAIK.

Alright, going to take a look at this replay soon and I'll be back.
Edit: Previous game was gone...2 weeks, seriously Valve? I'm just over 4k MMR solo/group but don't play much ranked as people at this rating are so whingy and try-hardy.
This one, bit of a meh start, not hugely impressed with our picks as a team (solo pub), ended up running dual lanes which kinda went ok. WK versus AM is a bad matchup, was shouting for us to pickup another suitable core, but no.
As I remember, got side-tracked early on trying to sort the lane combos out, and ended up having to ward late, chose somewhere too obvious and got countered. Set one up in mid for vs the Pudge, reckon we could have got an easy kill but Slark basically told me to get lost. Managed to get a few kills up top and do ok. BTW went Cold Feet first on the basis of Chilling Touch being poor against WR without more disable.
Ended up in that weird pub no-man's-land of not knowing how much to do team consumables, and how much to try and rush my Scepter. I think we had a shot at winning this, but blew it and then got trampled later.
I'm still trying to refine my AA play, can't remember if this is one of those games where my Ice Blasts were good or bad (it tends to be kinda binary). One thing I do struggle with sometimes on this hero is deciding how often to be there in person, and how much to rely on those big ults from range to be more effective than my other spells up close.
Ok it's done, the video is still processing on youtube
If you want a TL;DR, essentially work on your awareness and decision making. I do mention map awareness but just awareness in general like rune spawn timings, map awareness, cooldowns, etc is lacking. You make up for the lack of awareness for aggression and it's very apparent.

Hey so i'm basically pretty bad at this game (2k scrub) and I have been playing a lot of phantom assassin games recently, I do very well in most of the early game fights that I go for, but I end up losing games in late game. Any analysis of subtle misplays in my style, or in fights would be greatly appreciated. As I said before I am about 2k mmr, and I have been here for a while. Any insights from a better player would be much appreciated.
I don't expect to be able to carry every game I play, but I felt like there was a lot more that I could have done to make the match closer at least... I am sorry in advance for the god awful match that you may have to watch...

I'll take a look after I've taken a look at Sando's replay. It's alright, I've probably been in a similar situation ^__^
Calibrated at 1.8/1.9k cant remember then went down to 1.5k and i havent played ranked yet this year
It was today. Im playing a rat prophet (i was going dagon but then meh) with a Maelstrom rush. I think i did quite well this game, managing to rat out two T1s. I am almost completely playing objective based.
At first we stomped them but they gave quite the resistance at the base siege. I managed to rat towers and raxes top/bot (died a couple of times too, but nothing too big). There are a couple of unnecessary deaths because i accidentally clicked on a unit while im in trees and they then know of my location.
I was playing full rat but at the last fight i decided to go in as well and managed a double (i pondered if i joined all the fights before could we finish the game sooner?). I died, me and my friends bought back and we push mid again. While they are fighting i rat the ancients with necro 3 and treants. GG.
It's kind of a stomp but the game went longer than it should and AM was getting quite fat. Will you check this game out? I'd love if you analyse this, only the base siege is fine too.
Ok so I watched the analysis, thank you for it, I enjoyed your commentary very much.
I 100% agree with most points, I am aware that I activate Black King Bar and Diffusal Blade too late because I'm afraid of wasting charges, duration, and current Avatar charge duration. I know I shouldn't be, but can't do much about it, it's an old habit of greed - I almost never use buff potions or special ammo, or other consumables in games. I reaslised the moment after I was killed I should have activated BKB much earlier because he could use Hex, as you stated.
The mioment with Techies suicide was also my fault, you were right it was obvious he would suicide, but I didn't expect QoP at all and, you're right, his agression should have made me look at the map which I didn't.
The second point you put an emphasis on was awareness. I will take note of checking mid and game time more often, I truly have to make it my habit and it's not much harder than Treads switching, but in some places I think you just expected too much awareness which is a common case when plaers watch replays. In real game I had to contest lasthits with Rubick, watch out for Unduying whom I was aftraid of after that double kill, etc. I could do better, but I'm not a robot to calculate everything in a second, and nobody I watched on Twitch, even 6-7k players was aware of everything you stated there. Wouldn't ganking be obsolete in high-skilled game if everybody were so aware. To give an exaple I am talking about the moment with PA throwing her dagger - with low cd, mana cost and annoying slow most PAs just spam it in lane if their enemies deny her creeps. It was impossible to know for sure she was trying to initiate there unless you had clear vision on QoP who was in their jungle.
So what I've taken from your cast:
*Estimate enemy power better, better overestimate a hero you didn't play against very often
*Check the map at 2n:00 and try to make throwing a quick glance at the minimap a habit.
*Don't be greedy when itr comes to charge-based items.

Is that all or did I miss something?
Yeah that should be all of it
I didn't really explain it properly sorry about, what I wanted to say was a change in pattern when someone uses an ability or the way they move/position themselves. If PA was focused on spamming daggers on creeps to farm (which pa should've been doing) then suddently switched to spamming daggers onto you, that's a huge red flag. If PA didn't then I guess being ganked every so often could't be helped but that was the point I failed to make.
I'll get to the rest of the replay submissions as soon as I'm done with a replay ^_^.
