Hi! I'm Death Fiend Warlord Protector of the Light, but my name is cut into Death Fiend Prote, but who cares? This is my first guide, so please be gentle with comments. Please tell me what you think, so i can create better guides next time.
This guide will teach you how I play Ursa, keep in mind that this is not the only way to play him, but this build is how I play Ursa the best. You might not get results because I'm still working on the build.
This guide is not a competitive guide, for I have not used it in tournaments before, but this is a pub kind of Ursa. The idea of this kind of Ursa is to get the first blood with your lane partner.
The other Ursa guides show the way of killing Roshan during the early stages of the game, however this guide concentrates on killing enemy heroes and farming until you get your cores.(I'll explain later in the build)
+ Very Fun to play + Easy to use + Has high strength gain for more health. + Very Strong once he gets his items + Can kill Roshan during the early stages of the game.
Cons
- Melee - Item-Dependent - He's a bear(hunted by many)
This skill build is still a WIP (Work in Progress), however, I have used and tested it in pub games. It works as long as you have a lane partner that will understand you. DO NOT use this build if your lane partner won't assist you, because I can assure you, that you'll have low chances of dominating your lane. Okay, here it is.
Maxing Earthshock during the early stages in the game can either secure a first blood or save a life, it's a pretty good skill if you think about it. Then we try to max both Overpower and Fury Swipes for maximum damage output.
+ Early First Blood (If you have a decent lane partner) + You'll be WAAAAAAAAY ahead of your enemies and maybe, allies + Scare the **** out of your enemies + Amazing in mid-late game
Cons
- No Early Roshan :( - Weak during Early Game (If without partner) - Loses his potential during late game, if he is out-carried.
The Ring of Protection will provide higher armor, because you might be receiving a lot of harass damage; The Stout Shield will provide some defense while you go near the enemy creeps, and the Tango will give you some heal so that you won't have to go back to your Fountain.
Boots of Choice
Phase Boots
It gives decent additional damage, and you already have attack speed, you don't really need mana, and your Vladmir's Offering will give you your health regeneration.(I'll explain more later). One thing though, buy the Blades of Attack first so that you'll have higher damage output when attempting to kill enemies. That's why you have your Earthshock, so that you won't have problems chasing your enemies without Boots of Speed.
Core Items
Blink Dagger
Vladmir's Offering
Black King Bar
Skull Basher
For me, these items are what makes Ursa, a horrifying bear that just shows up, rips you into shreds and leaves you with nothing. The Blink Dagger gives you that initiation when killing lonely prey. The Vladmir's Offering makes a nice addition to your arsenal, it is kind of like your Urn of Shadows, it also gives you that mana regeneration you need. The Black King Bar turns you into a moving slaughterhouse, that rampages in the battlefield. It makes you to what I heard is called "Black King Bear", it sounds cool and horrific. Okay, here we've got the Skull Basher this is an important part of your core items because it works well with your Overpower. Hahahaha! Moving on we've got the...
Situtational
Daedalus
Butterfly
Medallion of Courage
Assault Cuirass
Battle Fury
Manta Style
Monkey King Bar
Shadow Blade
I'm going to explain the use of the items and when are they useful.
Daedalus
Daedalus gives you critical attack damage which hurts a lot. Works well with Overpower
When to buy: If you want to kill those tanky heroes fast(er) or if you just want to wreck your enemies.
Butterfly
Butterfly adds a nice amount of agility for extra damage, attack speed and importantly, evasion.
When to buy: When facing enemy carries, who you gives you a hard time.
Medallion of Courage
Medallion of Courage allows you to reduce the a target enemy's armor but at the cost of reducing your own armor. Many players underestimate this wonderful item.
When to buy: If you want to kill lonely enemies faster.
Assault Cuirass
Assault Cuirass gives you additional armor and attack speed, but what you're after is the armor reduction aura.
When to buy: If you like armor reduction. Works wonders with Medallion of Courage.
Battle Fury
Battlefury adds a decent amount of damage and health regen, it also adds a passive called "Cleave".
When to buy: If you want moar damage and if you need that extra hp regen, also it's passive, Cleave, is very useful in farming. The Cleave works well with certain skills such as Vacuum and Reverse Polarity
Manta Style
Manta Style gives you some stats and more attack speed and movement speed.
When to buy: If you need that extra damage(from Agility) and survivability(from Strength and MS).
Monkey King Bar
Monkey King Bar gives you a big amount of damage and attack speed. It also have two passives, True Strike(Prevents your attacks from missing) and Mini-bash(Gives a 35% chance to stun the target for 0.01 seconds and deal 100 bonus Magical damage on attack).
When to buy: If you want to kill those heroes with evasion and owners of the great Butterfly.
Shadow Blade
Shadow Blade gives you a reasonable amount of damage and attack speed. It also has a very useful active which makes you invisible and gives you 150 bonus damage when you break the invisibility with an attack.
When to buy: If you don't like Blink Dagger
Bottom Lane if you are in the Radiant Side, Top lane if you are in the Dire Side, with a decent lane partner. If you don't have a decent lane partner, you might as well give up.
Early Game
This is will affect your mid and late game phase, so better focus on your lane. Get some good last hits, buy two Blades of Attack and if you can afford, a Boots of Speed, so that you'll have your Phase Boots.Okay, assuming you have now your items,a decent lane partner, and hopefully he's a disabler or nuker. You're both level 3-5, now start your attempt for first blood. Target the weakest enemy in your lane, and if possible, lure him closer to you, away from the creeps, because the creeps might be a nuisance.
If your lane partner is a disabler let him use his disables and Overpower the enemy to death. If he's a nuker use your Earthshock first, which help him land his nukes easier, get a few hits with Overpower and BOOM!, First Blood. If your lane partner is neither a disabler nor nuker, just use your Earthshock and Overpower and let him hit the enemy and hopefully get the job done. Continue owning the enemy and get some good last hits, get at least one of your core items. Kill Roshan if you have time.
Middle Game
Okay, this is where you shine, if you got one of your core items, stop farming and join ganks. Don't head in first because you are squishy, but rather try to flank the enemy(coming out from the sides). Kill their most strong heroes, because you can probably take them on, but if you feel that you can't kill them, just don't.
Sometimes there will be hard carries that will be farming, like Anti-Mage or Faceless Void. These people are your targets because they will probably out-carry you, because these people have high late game potential, if they farm well. So try to disrupt their farming by killing them. However, be careful though, because there might be enemy hiding around the farming carry, waiting to counter-attack.
Get the rest of your cores and some other stuff(if you can afford) so that you'll be ready for finishing the game.
Late Game
If the fight still rages on and it's the Late Game Phase, it'll probably be a slight... bad news, because Ursa might be out-carried by those pesky little hard carries, Anti-Mage and Faceless Void, but if you did well hindering them from getting their items during the Middle Game Phase, there will be nothing to worry about.
If you have now amazing items, better than those of the enemy carries. Do Fountain Camping, but not too much, they might drag you to their Fountain and reach the end of your life and have this reaaaaaaally long respawn time. Well, if you have enough money for buyback then go for it. JUST DON'T DIE TOO MUCH, because the tables will probably turn.
They will f*** up your first blood attempts, approach with caution
Disablers, like
Crystal Maiden
Tidehunter
Storm Spirit
They make great allies, but they also make the worst foes. Once your caught in a gank of disablers, you need to pray that you'll survive. Farm for your Black King Bar immediately.
Special Mentions:
Omniknight
Guess what? You're dead. Why? First, Purification is annoying as a monkey on a tree, holding one of your most important possessions, while dancing and leaps to a different tree every time you get so close. Second, Repel won't let you land a nice slow with Earthshock. Third Degen Aura won't let you go near him, solution: buy yo' Blink Dagger. and Lastly, Guardian Angel won't let you do a thing to him or his teammates for like 5/6/7 seconds.
Bane
Hahaha, get your BKB ASAP, because this guy means trouble. Enfeeble will make you go, DAMMIT. Brain Sap is something like Omniknight's Purification. Nightmare can do a lot of things to you like, counter-initiate, escape from you, or even solo kill you. Fiend's Grip will make you go, FML. Control your temper and focus, when fighting this guy.
Pick the Fury Swipes first, get your items and head to Roshan. Let Io use Tether on you. First, let him tank Roshan's attacks as you charge up your Fury Swipes damage. When he's on low health, it's your turn to tank. Let Io heal you with his Healing Salve and Tether. When he's healed up, let him tank again. Just keep repeating the two steps. Be careful though, you might lose your Fury Swipes stack if you are not paying attention.
When you're finished, get the Aegis(obviously) and the nearby rune(if there is or if you want. You'll notice that both of you are level 3(almost level 4 to be exact). Which is a good advantage.

If you can't understand neither the written guide nor the video then good luck to you.
If you read this guide thoroughly and you understand it, hopefully you will win your next game using my build. Do not expect to get immediate results because it is still a WIP (Work in Progress). If you have suggestions or reactions, don't hesitate to leave a comment.
