Mobility is like an addiction, sure it gets your adrenaline up but you'll forget the main thing, that your hero does nothing.
Personally I tend to absolutely despise Blink Dagger + Force Staff builds except on some extremely specific heroes ( Batrider mainly, but a few others like shaker or Lion).
On Magnus I think Blade Mail is better than forcestaff in every way. Mag is supposed to be a frontline tank and he already has a native escape skill so for me forcestaff is just a ***** item. Blademail gives some well needed armor, some decent damage, and the same INT for refresher : far more cost-efficient IMO.
On Tide/Centaur/Clock...force is good situationally but I'd still rather not get it honestly. Besides again I like blademail bettter, they're supposed to be front line heroes. I'd only go force over BM if facing mass BKBs.
sadly thats not how it works. you cant say IM GOING DAGON ON NYX, or IM GOING DESO ON BOUNTY and just expect things to go well. not in a game that is in any way close.
blink rush on nyx>>>dagon rush on nyx in every game where you are not stomping stupidly hard.
centaur is made to jump in and get a kill, once he has used his combo your enemies would be stupid to attack you because you already used all your spells, you are hard to kill so a lot of spells and time has to be wasted on you, and you damage them anyway so they are stupid to even attack you.
if you are a decently farmed centaur with a 9-12 min blink, find some kills with your blink and are able to get your force before something like 18 minutes then i would always go for it to get insane mobility.
im not even gonna argue on how good force staff on magnus is BTW.
you seem to be making an argument for tanking damage as an initiator. no enemy in his right mind is going to focus a centaur or magnus who have already used all their spells.
i really dislike when people talk about something resembling a 'tank' in dota, you honestly dont need a hero whos job it is to soak up damage, because you are playing against human being who can just choose not to attack that hero. a doom's job is not to tank, a tide's job is not to tank, they are there to provide an advantage at the start of the fight.
but seriously guys drums of endurance on nyx? im fine with blink, but.. drums? need explanation
i dont think ive really seen that item on that hero ever, and you never should.
drums is an item that you get to buff your stats a little bit so you can survive the early midgame better.
i look at drums like this, dont get it on supports, dont get it on a hero who will by blink relatively early.
dont get it on heroes who need to buy high impact items.
so dont go drums lina, magnus, brew or tide.
get it on low stats heroes who want to fight anyway. ember is pretty much the perfect drums hero since once you have it you have the perfect manapool and some HP to work with.
others are TA, gyro, razor.
