Core Kotl

i played with a Dota friend who im mentoring (he has a 950 MMR)...

went kotl to help him in lane and well .... i was 5-0 by 4 minutes....

so i went Dagon ... was errr ...fun.

i built Dagon Mjollnir Heart scythe BoT i think i was building towards a rapier towards the end...

but thats pretty much the only time you can go core kotl... when your trolling. i think the highest kotl can go is pos 3.

though in saying that...

i once drafted a kotl mid against a death prophet because we were going aggro tri and they drafted Dp last and we didnt have anything that could deal with her mid so i shifted the lanes around and ran an aggro trilane with kotl mid.... worked a treat, he complelty kept the lane forced and got a quick level 8 took the tower before her and then rotated out and we were 5-0 on towers before they even took one :D ... we won eventually but we shut down dp's online time long enough for us to get the advantage :D

Exactly, I mean if you want to run core kotl either you go eblade dagon refresher orb or you go right-click kotl. Best troll hero xD

But I mean I don't get how you could say that you lack farm as kotl, when I play him I'm always like hey I've got 23 minute sheep I don't know what to buy anymore. Spam Q, steal carries' farm, ez creeps ez life.

There is some crossover, but there are key differences:

- Mana regeneration doesn't rely on use of items, is larger, and instant
- You don't get the bonus mana regeneration on yourself
- Recall has a 15 second CD (not counting your ult's availability), Relocate 60-90
- Io can't antipush anything like as strongly as Illuminate

Obviously Io has other strengths he can offer, they're different heroes.



Depends what kind of gaming you're playing in - if it's all very passive he's capable of getting quite a lot of farm together quickly - definitely one of the stronger farming supports. However, I'm reluctant to take it off other heroes. Stacking jungle camps and taking them yourself is fine as long as your carry doesn't need them, and you don't have anything more important to do at the time.
