I was thinking of running him solo offlane - he's tanky, benefits from levels more than items, can disrupt the lane with RoF, and can use his PoM as a sort-of escape. Sounds like an offlaner to me. Mid could work too, but there are other heroes I'd rather mid.

pit lord is a completely farm independent utility hero. He needs levels that's it. Position 3/offlane at best. Maybe even support because he needs far less farm than most common offlaners like Tide or Mag. He gets literally nothing from going mid.
But don't get too hyped he's just the Dire Io :)

i agree he needs a solo lane but thats why mid or solo safe.

in dota 1 the guy moved like a pregnant cow with arthritis through quicksand. super super slow i think his ms might have been buffed.

he has no direct escape and his w is only 275 radius. his rain of fire is decent though as a farming tool i guess but the cast range got nerfed towards the end of dota1.

the only way i can see him offlane is if he went the basi tranq build since he has pretty decent starting armour.

PoM is not an escape its a disable at most and a zoning tool at LEAST. escape? na.

run him like a storm mid with a good roaming duo and your guaranteed kills.

pit lord venge skywrath? ouchies. very very painful.

I play Slark a lot, hoping to keep him buffed, I play him as a guilty pleasure

Just imagine, Pit lord + Vengeful Spirit + Shadow Fiend = Zero physical dmg output for enemies.
If you really are a sadist, throw in a Dazzle or Omniknight.
