So i did some math and I need 75 days worth of consecutive wins (to get myself to 4k from my current 1k[ew])

So far spamming Huskar seems like the only way to go, but I hate using pubstompers and like to keep my versatility up.

What can I do to secure some wins? High impact heroes like Omni and Necro?

The quest for MMR seems hopeless tbh.

No, you don't have to play specific pubstompers. Every hero is viable to raise MMR as long as you play him well. Except the horribly underpowered ones (e.g carry Alchemist). If your hero is decent and you play him well, you can raise MMR :)

You can raise MMR perfectly well by playing only support. Of course your cores are going to suck, but if you're the best support player in the world you'll win your safe lane and your mid lane every game simply because of your awesome play, and scrub cores with farm are always better than scrub cores without farm. So in the end of the day you'll get a steady 55-60% winrate off of it.
There's a reason why Crystal Maiden, Omniknight, Abaddon, Necrophos, Warlock etc are topping the winrate charts. They're technically the "best" pubstompers, far above scrub destroyers like Riki. What makes them so good is that most of them are "scaling" supports, who are good in lane and stay relevant until the late game, and scale well with farm (yes, even CM). Pick them.

You can raise MMR perfectly well by playing hard carries. I had a friend who raised his MMR by over 1K by spamming Morphling, and god knows how bad the hero is these days. Phantom Lancer was my go-to pubstomper when I opened my dota 2 account 2 years ago. Spectre is sitting at the comfortable top 4 of winrates, because pub scrubs can't push when her ult is down and Spectre destroys poorly positioned heroes. Etc.

You can raise MMR by playing utility heroes and initiators as long as they don't require your team to have a brain. As long as your hero's skills don't require coordination or followup (like Song of the Siren), any good AOE ult like Reverse Polarity, Ravage etc completely destroys people who pack up like the scrublords they are.

My main advice is to be honest on the heroes you're good at and the heroes you're bad at, by looking at your winrates. Try to find a pack of heroes that you can consistently achieve a >60% winrate with. They can be literally any role, as long as you play them well. Pick up ~5-10 heroes you can consistently achieve a >60% winrate with, and call them your "hero pool". And keep spamming these heroes until you get really good with them and start constantly rising in MMR.

If you don't have ccnsistent high winrate heroes currently, look up Gyrocopter, Leshrac, Shadow Fiend, Winter Wyvern, Witch Doctor, Lion, Storm Spirit, Abaddon, Omniknight or Bloodseeker - in this patch, to lose with these heroes you'd have to actually throw on purpose (^^). Of course this list changes with every patch, however the heroes you're good at don't change. Once you're good at playing a hero, you can pick him even when he's completely out of the meta and consistently win.

So yeah, look up the heroes you're good at winning games with by looking at your winrates, and make yourself a hero pool.

You can play all heroes that don't require you to play as a team. Pubs will be full of idiots always so you need to be able to win on your own.

That's why Pudge and spectre are picked.

spectre and omniknight are 2 big pubstompers but if you're a 1k scrub you'll never make it to the very high skill bracket

Everyone starts as a 1k scrub... we improve over time... I went from autism to 3k in a few months. Don't be so negative.

Also, in 6.83 I'd have said pick Troll. I still do that, but that's just me. Pick high-impact heroes you are confident with, that can outplay the enemy.
There are two kinds of people in the world; those who can count, and those who can't.

Troll is fine now, a bit weak, but at the level of pa at least.

I am climbing mmr, and at 2.5 and still climbing. At my current level of playing, no one believes me when i say i came from 800mmr at the lowest. There is always room for improvement, and once you reach the level where you are better than your peers, you will rise. Even for a 1k scrub, they will eventually improve

Honestly, If you have a better late game than they do, consider Techies. Not only does it make every game enjoyable, Techies can drag the game out long enough that you can get to the late game. Techies makes every ranked game fun.

Picking up Skywrath

No game with techies is enjoyable to me, except those where the techies is me.

I absolutely loathe techies on the enemy team, mostly because i am almost always the lone support. So if there is an enemy techies i am almost always stuck with very little items while i buy sentries all over the place.

When on my team, i hardly ever see a techies do something useful apart from remote mines at the tower(which i have to specifically request at times). I have been in games where there was a competent player on techies, and those were enjoyable, as much as i hate to admit. But those games are rare, because so many people don't know how to play techies and only play him to afk mine for 5 minutes

You missed three words. "Techies makes every ranked game fun only for you."
