The miracle pubs are those with great cooperation. One time my whole team had mics! And it was heaven! But really why do people not work together? It's a simple concept. Is it that hard to defend or attack a pinged tower or hero?
Everyone wants to be a superstar! like some song says. That's basically the problem. DotA clearly shows you that "One for all, all for one" strides against the egocentric world view of many people. It differs a lot between people and countries/cultures, and from my impression the personal desire to be a superhero is particularly big in the two "super-countries" USA and Russia, which (from my experience) makes players from there less inclined to cooperate.
Anyway, to conclude: Most people are narcissists and thus care more about their farm and items the helping the team. Then when you lose they blame all others because "look at my score it's positive you guys ****ing suck report EVERYONE". Yeah...
When i say split push, we did. We got two raxes. I know this might not be too great of an accomplishment but i feel.. Awesome when i did that. To know that my clever tricks and schemes worked, it felt amazing.
Anyways, bome people migjt just be.. Lazy. Well i cant figure out other's thoughts but at some game i just felt.. Simple laziness when team told to do X. No really, i was like "ehh meh" and just keep farming.
Bad experiences may often cloud judgement too. If you've played and communicated previously, and it's only led to bad games and/or losses, then people won't even bother and just do their own thing next time.
Not only that, but there are so many quotes by high MMR players stating that they raised their MMR purely by focusing on their own game and ignoring their team, that it can breed this attitude in others.
Especially in lower leagues, it's easy for players to get tunnel vision(I know I've been guilty of this before) and to just focus on farming, or doing their own thing. Also, I've met a surprising number of people who request that I type out all my commands because they are playing dota 2 with the sound off...
Just do your best every game to communicate... I recently had a terrible Rubick game where none of my team knew what they were doing, and then my next game, I had a team who all had mikes and were all friendly, and all were decent players.
It just gets me really frustrated. Don't they want to win? And how come everyone says "GG ***ing nub team plz report" whenever someone makes a mistake? And how come they can't play supports just too selfish.
I've played selfish before, but for a reason. This one game i just played my team was doing really bad vs. a Zues and I was Wraith King so I went Hand of Midas and Mjollnir rush and pushed like hell, and the enemy just ignored me while I tore down their towers in a minute flat. Went great and my team was yelling at me for just jungling and pushing and farming up until we won. haha.
You've just given an example of a match that went better because you ignored your team, and yet you seemingly don't understand why people do it.
Yes but as I said, I had a reason. It was extremely situational. If I knew that my team couldn't defend as well as they did, and if Zues wasn't so greedy with trying to get as many kills as possible, I would have stayed mid and defended. I won the game for my team. If I lost that would be different. Most of the time when people don't work as a team they end up maiign it worse for the team. This was a Hail Mary and it worked since they only bothered to try and stop my push once or twice.
Oh I also think that it's better to communicate rather than ignoring your team and playing for yourself, as a general rule. I was just pointing out that sometimes ignoring works, so we shouldn't write it off completely.
