So my new hero of the month is nature's prophet. I've read a few guides as well as watching some Bulldog games with him. I love him as split pusher and a global ganker.
Now I know Midas is great along with shadow blade but after that I'm not sure
I'm tossing up between Orchid and sheep stick.
I like Orchid for massive right click damage and that it's easier to build ( 900 is the most expensive item)
But sheep stick makes me tankier and gives me a hard stun. The main drawback is those expensive items.
I know it'll change game to game depending on depending on the game.
Am I missing other options as well?
Thanks
Furion does have a high base damage so some get desolator. If he's getting pinned down a lot, getting lifesteal is also an option. Thanks to Valve's DotA, furion can take maelstrom with another orb effect so take your pick.
Another is the RoB issue, some people like to upgrade it to vladmirs, but personally, I don't really trust that because treant aren't that tanky enough to regenerate hp with lifesteal fast enough. Therefore, some take RoB then dump it for something better.
Sheepstick is better against teams with a lot of physical damage/strong passives, Orchid Malevolence is cheaper and easier to build - pick depending on your opposition. Much as I hate to encourage it, Shadow Blade can be a useful pushing option on him - BUT you still need to keep your map awareness and avoid against invisible heroes etc.
Personally I like rolling my RoB into a Ring of Aquila - the +6 agility is a bit meh early game, but you're still getting other stats and some damage for a small cost and no extra inventory space. Maelstrom is an option if you want to farm even harder, personally I think Desolator is the best orb option, although Eye of Skadi can work well too.
Thing with Furion is he gets such good farm, and his skills are just a platform for you to build on with the majority of items working well on him.
Honestly, I love desolator a lot for pushing towers. When I play NP I mostly spend time split pushing and less time in team fights. When I have been in a more "team fight" game, I went sheep stick and it really helped a lot. Just went deso after and melted faces
The thing with midas on anyone but particularly on Nature is that it sometimes keeps the player out of team fights when they're needed. Honestly I never get it with NP because I know I'll always have to keep one eye on the cool down to get best value for money from it. I can't count how many games I've lost because of Natures prohphet players not joining in team fights. If your team can't handle 4 v 5 then don't get midas and always be ready to TP in to a team fight. Otherwise the game is over by the time you've got the farm and XP you think you need.
If you are playing with friends and have someone you know can solo easily and will benefit from it then great. But normal pubs he should be a very situational pick, and you should inform your team mates of your intentions.
The other crazy thing is he also does really well in lane he can solo or mid, anything, so versatile there's no need to jungle with him unless it's going to benefit your own team by having a solo hero.
Sorry I needed to rant. Nothing wrong with your build. Just with people who play Nature's Prophet :p
Lol'd at the last post. It's not just np players who do that. Played a game where ls was still jungling 45 minutes in.
I use Midas to help with pushing as well as the bonus gold+xp.
I generally play a lot of solo off lane so I need the gold acceleration.
Nothing wrong with NP jungling - he doesn't necessarily need to go the Hand of Midas/Hard Carry style play - and definitely SHOULDNT under certain circumstances. The big problem is a lot of players just pick him, try to go with the cookie-cutter and then pay no attention to the rest of the game.
Just because you're jungling doesn't mean you can't help your team - jump in to help with ganks, snipe their courier, gank their long lane, push their tower with Treants - you can still do this while farming away, if anything, it's more efficient than Midasing up and disappearing.
Sando - I get what your saying about Hand of Midas on NP. It's not always a bad idea though. But first, remove that pub level of map awareness.
So I've done my first 6 levels on solo off lane, now I need farm. I've only got my gloves of haste (maybe)
TP to jungle and start "AFK farming" Because he is soo easy to jungle farm efficiently (thanks to treeants). So while I'm doing this, I'm actually flicking all over the map vision wise, and thanks to teleport, I'm involved in every gank or team fight giving me more gold again.
I can also push towers (granted, softly) while jungling my scythe/SB/orchid up.
Bad NP prophets will jungle until they have all their items and no towers, I use hand to split push, jungle farm and still tp in for ganks.
5 clarities, one support item, save gold for either midas or sentries
Midas
Boots->Phase/treads (upgrade can be skipped if game is hard)
Shadow Blade
Sheep
Summon one set of treants at :07 before, clear hard camp at :30 with another set to get level 2, teleport to try and snipe enemy courier (1/3rd of games, don't want to make it obvious). You will have to go back for mana just as you get level 6 and your midas.
If there's an AM or QoP you think you can get work done against with a fast orchid (pre 22 minutes, since that's incidentally the timing for Manta on AM and BKB on QoP) that's fine before sheep.
Offlane:
Tangos, 3x clarity, salve.
Pull with treants on repeat.
