So, I played a game with Luna yesterday. We completely rekt them. I got a ultra and a rampage.

My question is, does she fit into the current meta as good as for example Leshrac?

I see Luna very rarely in my games and most times the people playing her are complete scrubs who do not have an idea of the things they are doing.

EDIT:

It's just a hypothesis, but maybe the reason why she isn't picked much in pub is because of bad team coordination and Glimmer Cape.

It would be good to have the dotabuff stats of that game before we go any further.

Hey, good for you. A lot of Luna games for me (my allies, I don't play her) tend to go really poorly, often because the Luna farms too much or too little (I call it "Shadow Fiend Syndrome").

Possibly useful, she can deathball well with a team that can compliment from her Lunar Blessing (Viper, Puck, Shadow Shaman, WD for example). She also benefits a lot from Glimmer Cape carriers so she doesn't get magical bursted down while Eclipsing.

But no, she's not as good as Leshrac, her laning is weaker, she farms slower until she gets a bunch of items, her burst is not as reliable as well as gets dispersed, and needs a draft that can take advantage of her passive to really be good. Niche pick, but not unplayable like in 6.83.

She's fitting, but Luna is still not a good choice because she is just a weak hero overall.

And what exactly is the "shadow fiend syndrome" and why is it called that???

OnTopic:
Luna fits in to the current meta, just get your core items and go rekt.

Well, I build Luna with a Mask of Madness as shown in the game.
When I get Glaives and mask I farm REALLY fast. Then I get BKB and start fighting.

Ofc when I hit 6 I search for a squishy target to one-shot-ult it. The Brewmaster created much space and I had enough time to farm my BKB. Then I was almost invulnerable to their team.

Crystal Maiden blink, ult then I BKB ult-ez.

And yea. What's this SF syndrome, I didn't understand xD?

The SF syndrome is where a Hero is really good at both farming and early fighting, and requires a balance of the two to be fully effective. Most pubs don't do this because most pubs are half-spud.
There are two kinds of people in the world; those who can count, and those who can't.

She became less viable when DK entered the meta and did her job essentially better than her.

Like, you used to see her in 6.83 in combination with a Chen as a deathball draft because she was probably the best death-ball farming hero with the ability to transition late. (Competitively speaking, because I actually follow that compared to pub-meta. Troll Warlord and Sniper were banned often enough for the meta to shift about a little from constant late game)

But now DK is viable, and if anything a really strong mid, he replaces her. He pushes with less farm, which benefits Chen more since it fits the heroes timing window better. He's a solid mid who discourages rotations from mid (Because he can just threaten the tower), and whose tanky against rotations. And his ceiling is about the same as Luna's given he's tankier, but with less team-fight.

Like, Luna is in this weird spot where she's caught between two heroes, ( Gyrocopter an Dragon Knight) who are both really good in this meta, and she doesn't quite do either role well enough to be pick-able. It's not that she's bad, she's just not quite good enough.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.
