But what you are getting at is that he successfully gets that exp by depending heavily on skele walk.

Hmm.... I guess with the solo exp in the middle, it could make that approach more viable as the mana spent on skelewalk just became twice as meaningful....

All and all, I still frown upon it for well founded reasons....

Force clinkz to start with the bottle... eeeeew...

And, 20 minutes is valuable time if you ask me.

and what the hell do you good clinkz players do when your fighting against a keeper of the light + bounty hunter...

for the love of god....

If i played the suggested style, i would have to abandon the lane, but with life leach from the start, there is a glimmer of hope.

The best defense is a good offense....

Clinkz reminds me of an extreme sort of design and function... like zerg....

You either get steam rolled, or do the steam rolling.

But don't ever ask me my opinion on zerg because I find more fault with the design then the player. God, not even sure why I brought that up... making myself upset just thinking about it.

No you don't get it, he goes solo suicide lane, either top or bottom because he can survive versus a trilane. An Orchid is built out of two Sobi Masks so I don't get where you're getting this idea that he has mana issues, and you don't sit in lane invisible, you use it as an escape, it gives MS and invisibility. So dodging those slow Illuminates should be extremely easy.

You were emphasizing that he's prone to disables, what is lifesteal gonna do while you're disabled? And how is Clinkz gonna score a kill without a disable and no damage because you don't use the skill that provides you with damage? They're just gonna walk away from you, or stun you and walk away. Orchid literally gives everything he needs (Mana, Damage, and a Disable), you should be able to kill someone before your silence wears off.

The problems that you have with your build:

No disable, no damage, and you fight against your natural role. If you were going for stats I'd think you were more viable building a Linken's or a Skadi, atleast Skadi stacks with your arrows and provides you with a disable and survivability. But, no. You want to make a potential ganker/hard carry into a semi-carry that just stands there and cannot contribute to anything but holding a lane, your argument that a good defense is a good offence is invalid, because you have no offence, all you have is defence and with the build you recommend you'll get bullied and ganked out of lane. This all goes back to Dusts and Wards, go watch some high-level gameplay of Clinkz and actually absorb some of the gameplay. The reason most vanilla builds are the standard they are is because the game has been around for a decade and players grind numbers and calculate and test. You simply coming in here with no understanding of the genre alone is grounds for no one to take you seriously, never mind the fact you want to try to bend the role of a hero that is based around that role is just silly. Since you like comparing the two genres, here's an example: "Hey, let's take a Troll and upgrade him with Berserk, then upgrade only armor.", it just doesn't make sense, if you wanted a tankier unit, you would just build Grunts, or Raiders if you were combating air units.

And on that note; you need to stop comparing an ARTS game to an RTS game, they don't have the same mentality. A game that's fundamentally based around a micro-meta game cannot be compared to a game that has a single-unit centric and scalable gameplay. They don't use the same mechanics, they don't have the same gameplay. The only thing Starcraft and DoTA has in common are that they originated from Blizzard and are viewed from Top-down.

Oh so let's dig up the history instead of focusing on the now.... History is just that, history.

Anyways, as far as the point about having skele walk, I talked about this with a friend already...

When people see clinkz, they are suppose to be intimated, consider running.... that's why he is a carry... but note he has a method of escape.

It all depends on whether you want to take the risk of not backing down.. (With life steal) or use what I believe to be wasted mana if there was any potential to have won that fight with the life steal which allows you to not back down.

As far as boots of tranq go, I think we are on the same page here... that is something to consider before the morbid mask as you could potentially escape most situations with out having to use skele walk.

It's hard to know exactly when to get tranqs first or morbid first, or just follow through on the mass agility to not back down from fights... like the mass agility after morbid in to blade mail.... now there is a concept I've talked about before.

This is the foundational concept with which your are trying to make all your points so....

No disable? Ok, but orchid is perhaps of the top universally good items in the game.(I preference my skull basher 2 second cool down disable)

No damage? Agility = Damage + Attack Speed + Armor... I'm not really seeing the point here.

Natural role... his nature leans more towards

Agility + Carry....

Not Escape + Intellegence

But, I'm willing to settle with agreeing for both, because this forum will make me do so.

What is anything going to do when your disabled? That's why it's called just that... Disabled.

I really hope you aren't suggesting that the skill of the game revolves heavily around who can disable who first....

Basher procs 10% of the time on ranged units, that is why MKB is a common pick up on him. While Orchid disables them from casting spells and allows you to have amplified damage, he makes his own damage, Searing arrows are amplified by this and they cannot cast.

The point is he doesn't need survivability, like I said, his role is an assassin. Late game he has the potential to carry, but is easily out-carried by any true carry. Nyx Assasin is basically the equivalent, except instead of single value nukes, he nukes them and kills a hero within 1.5 - 2.5 seconds with extremely fast and hard auto-attacks, and this is unavoidable because they cannot see you unless they have a sentry ward placed inside the lane. Which is why you pick off roaming targets.

Its not us making you "settle", its you not understanding the concept of how to play the hero, I made plenty of points on how to better your idea. You didn't even comment on Skadi or any of which I said, and you never defended your points. Go to any DoTA community and submit this and they will be far more harsh then us, go to PlayDoTA and submit this and you will be shut down immediately. I can't speak for other users responding, but I myself responded to better your playing. If not a single person agrees with you and each person provided extremely valid ideas, don't you think at some point there is a problem with your build?

I think you need to severely read through the posts made, and watch some competitive play to understand this hero. So far you've done a terrible job at providing an alternative playstyle for this hero, you fight mechanics in the game and completely opt out of the use of Clinkz's kit.

Orchid: Silences, disabling them from using disables on you.

Bkb: Magic Immunity.

Linken's Sphere: Blocks any enemy spell.

Invisibility: Projectile Dodging. (A mechanic you should know)

I think you guys have made me realize the concept of "Assasin Disabler" using skele walk.

I'll give you guys that but, personally, with all the methods to render invisibility useless in this game... I'll be using my satanic + skull basher as something that is, in my opinion, more reliable.

And I'll also have blade mail so that I'll attack , let's say, a melee hero on their way in, getting hits, and get hits on them on their way out of the vicinity... stunning them all along the way... getting the maximum effect out of the fact of being a ranged hero and certainly gaining all my life back.

Seems to me that the orchid style works better on the the weak distance intelligence heros

But me? I like to take on the bad boys.

The large Melee Brutes who are so attracted to clinkz, who believe that they will just stomp him.
