Phantom Assassin is a good laner, with the dagger and good survivability with Blur.

Terrorblade is another option, with insane HP regen combined with a Poor Man's making him pretty much immune to harassment, as well as that insane Reflection and Metamorphosis. He also will take your towers after getting a kill.
There are two kinds of people in the world; those who can count, and those who can't.

Just putting this out there. Abaddon. Talk about a hero that is hard to push out of lane. Let alone kill.

It's bad when a Skywrath Mage can't force you out of lane.

Guys, heroes like PA and void are decent laners, not strong laners. Especially in a dual lane setup.

I agree with this on PA. She's too easy to kill, even with blur. However, Void is very durable due to his abilities, not his health. Also, Void usually gets the kill before the enemy does so it won't be a problem if he takes damage. Thems my 0.02 USD.

the thing is that yes you can play him as a less farm dependant offlaner, but 1, in pubs farm is more evenly distributed in pubs becouse carries farm less and supports support less, so that void with just scepter and MoM wont do anything.
and 2, you dont have that invoker, AA, or skywrath waiting to throw their AOE into the chrono.

so yes the void might not die, but he wont get enough farm either. so i wont reccomend playing him in pubs at all unless you really know what you are doing.

seriously, you dont reccomend a void to some new player, that sounds rediculous.

I think Dragon knight can really be what you're searching for, he has good ar*** mecanism and potential for early kills, good regen and armor so you won't get kicked out of lane that easly, and he's really strong in the mid game and quite easy to play.

Bristleback h'e also a good choice imho, but he has a more peculiar playstile, (it's not that hard to learn, but i think you should watch at least one game of samone good at playng it t get the right idea).

Centaur and Axe can also fit your request, even if they're not proper carry and you must be used to the initiator role.

It depends, you can easily stay back and get a bit of Farm and Exp with Stifling Dagger, so unless you're out of Position, or are getting 3-5 Man Ganked, you're not that easy to Kill.

Also bear in mind that this is advice for a newer player, not a 4k player where smart picks are made, he's more likely to end up against a Dual Melee Core Lane, where neither of them have a clue about how to Last Hit, Harrass or get Kills, than against a competent Offlaner or 2.

I know, and that is exactly why you dont pick void or to a lesser extend PA. That is why you pick a melee (semi) carry.
And he was talking about a strong mellee laner, so bristleback is clearly number one, with lifestealer, jugger, ember, kunnka, slardar, slark, sven and ursa as other decent dual lane heroes.
