Basically I thought it would be nice to have a thread discussing just how people have observed 6.83 to have changed the metagame since 6.82. Or just general feelings about the patch. Even if you think Volvo need to desperately nerf a given hero. Whatever, just some kind of discussion would be nice.

Thing I've noticed is the massive spike in Juggernaut picks in competitive games. Like the hero has gone from being something that's almost never thought of, into first pick/first ban material recent.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

He had that one day where he was picked by everyone, and he is legit as a carry now, but situational, since he is still a squishy melee, and as a result cant just stand and fight.

I really liked the different juggernaut build i see in competetive games. 1 point into Blade Fury, with max Healing Ward and Blade Dance and stats. And instead of aghs very agressive itembuilds with Mask of Madness and Blink Dagger, followed up by damage items.

Ill probably try it out soon, the aghs build is really good in most pubs, but if you have freefarm leveling bladefury is useless and getting aghs makes you fall off really hard against some teams.
I recently had a game where i had aghs and needed BKB, but since they were all tanky ommnislash had a mediocre effect, and even though i also had butterfly and basher, my damage output was really limited.

Yeah, Fire (a.k.a sneaky nyx assassins) recently picked him and it was pretty good. Im not sure if it actually was tc, or ush, but one of them played him extremely well. Awesome to see the jugger pick.

Jugg is just huge in the meta atm. picked or banned nearly every game leading up to the ASC.

thing im noticing that i really really really reallly REALLY like atm.

is that there is no set group of heroes that are META. like TI4 it was

dp fv sky brew tide razor

they were all picked or banned every game.

now?

i see huskar in pro games i see jugg tide razor viper ogre spec kunnka shdaow demon tb fv nyx naix .... you name it it has been picked ...

i really really hope this continues . this ... complete roster drafting style. its like with the patch changes more and more heroes are competitively viable which means lots of drafts lots of different styles of play.

this will be a good TI... putting my bet down now.... instead of Remember TI3 and 2... we will be saying

Techies have yet to be touched by anyone in the DAC so far (possibly because of their questionable hygiene?), but Juggernaut is just getting picked left and right. Question is, when will someone find a way to counter him?

yes

but it requires running a very un targetable line up.

Slark Storm Spirit Queen of Pain Pugna

Euls as core heroes.

i first picked a Jugg in captains and got countered so hard even though i banned some of them.

i literally could ulti anyone :(

I agree with Smuggels. The meta is moving into a very pleasurable direction. A big pool of heroes is viable currently. It keeps the game exiting especially for drafters like Puppey who used to draft very unusual things sometimes when he was at Navi which didn't work at the time, but work now. At this moment I feel like drafters have a lot more freedom in what they draft and how they draft, but still need to think about the bigger pool now and watch for potential counters.

The thing is, Jugg is so versatile in how he can play. He can just be used to run around and make space through kills (With a Blink Dagger he can basically track down anyone. Seriously, he'll run down Anti-Mage despite Blink). You build like Phase Boots, Drum of Endurance, and Blink Dagger, and you can hunt anything that breathes, and then just TP out under Blade Fury. It's a little obscene.

He can optimize for team-fights if the enemy respond to him by grouping, by going like Battefury into damage items. He can optimize for solo pick-offs as well. He can solo Roshan with a Ring of Aquila and Mask of Madness. He gives such massive presence in early team-fights with Healing Ward (Which is reamarkably hard to kill for something with 1 HP, because it's got 450 move speed. You have to have a blink or pseudo blink to get it, and it's so hard to fight into it).

I don't think you can really counter him per say, because he can always itemize to be effective, and he has just the right skill set to be impactful with say just level 6 (Like he has been run offlane as well as Safe-lane, and mid). It's more a matter of individual teams being able to play around him/against him, than there being dedicated hero picks.

But yes, I do love the diversity of the meta game now. There's still obvious first tier picks, but they aren't as overwhelming as they were for TI4. Which is great, because TI4 sucked.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

the pro jugg build now is

phase mask of madness

and 1 point bfury then statstill 4 then healing ward stats again then omnislash.

means you can skip drums and get early kills with omnislash.

i havent even seen one different build on jugg :P lol

i usualy go poor mans phase drums aghs mjollnir helm satanic bkb

i am trying out the mask and stats atm.

its pretty crazy.

on the meta again :P

i honestly think we are returning to the gameplay of

"All Strategies are equal"

one might be better then another but then anther might counter that and ... yea

cant wait to get into drafting again. im loving the 1-1-1-1 (1) roaming atm and the 1-1-1j-2.

i espcially like the mobility drafts and global.

I think you almost always see a value point in Blade Dance before 6. Because, it really is an amazing point of value. And has such fantastic synergy with MoM.

But yeah, I guess Phase Boots, Mask of Madness is core. But I will maintain he has a lot of variation to go with his item build after that.
