I know this has beed brought up before but ith 6.83, Morph got a buff to one of his underutilized aspects; access to a long duration single target stun. Now, I'm not sure who thought it would be a good idea to buff the stun from 3 seconds all the way to a whopping 4.25 seconds (with a 10 second CD), but this is where the hero's stun (adaptive strike) currently lies. This means you can have an enemy target totally disabled for 42.5% of their existence. That's more than any other single target disable in the entire game.
In addition to this, Morphling had been seeing a little love here and there patch after patch, restoring him to his former TI2 glory where he was picked and banned in every game. When factoring these other recent changes in with the changes to ethereal blade (which were in my opinion a buff to morph), and 6.83's adaptive strike buff, it now seems like we have a very broken hero on our hands.
To put things into perspective, Morphling's current competitive winrate in 6.83 stands at an absurd 73.2% with a record of 30-11, making him by far the hero with the highest winrate with at least 40 games played, the second closest being Ancient Apparition at a paltry 58.1% in comparison. I definitely feel like Volvo has gone too far with Morphling again, but this time in the opposite direction. If he is not addressed, or if some of his counters do not receive some good buffs, I feel like TI5 will see similar TI2 Morphling dominance.
These are just my thoughts though, how do you guys feel about Morphling's current state?
EDIT: I feel like a lot of people are underestimating the power of this 4.25 second stun / support Morphling. Try it out or wait until you've witnessed it in action to come to an opinion about it, because it genuinely feels broken. Hanni was talking about how broken it is during some NEL matches a couple of days ago and also put it to good use during the matches.
Gr8 b8, m8. I rel8, str8 appreci8, and congratul8. I r8 this b8 an 8/8. Plz no h8, I'm str8 ir8. Cr8 more, can't w8. We should convers8, I won't ber8, my number is 8888888, ask for N8. No calls l8 or out of st8. If on a d8, ask K8 to loc8. Even with a full pl8, I always have time to communic8 so don't hesit8.
I am glad they buffed him a fair amount of time before TI5, so that we can see if he is too strong. I also think that this stun is quite long, with a low cooldown, but remember, that STR Morphling is not even close as good as AGI Morphling. Maybe that could change his role in competetive gaming (some weird CC/elusive/tanky/escape/initiator hero with very decent late gane). I am not great at theorycrafting.
They've made Adaptive Strike better for Rubick, but remember that higher str means lower damage. There was the concept of armlet morph to adjust your stats in a pinch on /r/truedota. Sounds interresting.
I am the only one who thinks STR Morphling has no sense at all?
Because you will lose damage, attack speed and armor. You will end with a lot of HP but a poor physical EHP. Morphling is made to right-click and destroy his opponents with the Shotgun combo (if he has the opportunity to get the Ethereal Blade in good time), not to be a tank that throw stuns with some mobility in-built via Waveform and Replicate.
As Cataclysm said, they made Adaptive Strike better to Rubick: he will end with High HP and low physical EHP which is better than normal Rubick - who has low HP and low physical EHP.
A good morph will insta morph str/agi after casting his adaptive strike. Just like Pudge's Meat Hook with Rot

Problem is that with the Ethereal Blade change, "shotgun morph" is not really good anymore. Only way to do it is to initiate with Eblade, then *wait for the projectile to hit*, and then Waveform + adaptive strike. It's a bit weaker. Sure, Morph himself doesn't turn ethereal which is kinda nice, but before he could dispel it with manta anyways.
So you mainly play Morph as a right-click hero now, which is a bit meh. It works, don't take me wrong, but the appeal of the hero is kind of gone.
About the 4 second stun, it definitely has its uses : when Morph gets focused he has to morph full strength to survive, and before a full strength Morph was a bit useless, he had to TP to base, morph back into AGI and rejoin the fight. Now he can just sit there as an unkillable utility hero and spam 4 second stuns. Support Morph is still kinda garbage though don't take me wrong, the hero is way too level-dependent. Offlane semi-carry Morph? Why not.

Well ....when are you goin to morph full STR as Morphling? In most cases its, when you are getting focused or nuked by spellcasters. So a 4.25 second stun is actually quite huge.
Unless you are talking a general STR morph build. Which yes, is wasting alot of the heroes potential.
The only real scenacrio where i think it is justified, is when you got shut down hard in the early game AND the enemy team consists of at least 80% magic dmg :S
