Mid Phantom Lancer?

I've been thinking, since PL has been changed drastically from a late game rat-god to an early-mid game fighter in the 6.82 patch, do you think that PL mid is viable now? With good base damage, good chasing abilities and an even more confusing ultimate, he is great at handling. Perhaps early levels on this hero wouldn't be such a bad idea.



I would like to hear the community's opinion on this matter. I'd also like to know what item build one should follow if one would decide to play a mid PL. Thanks!

Mid PL? Sure.

Rush Diffusal Bladeand Bottle. (These are core)
Wreck face

Rush Heart of Tarrasque afterwards, then wreck even more face.(can be situationally sunstituted with Manta Style

You can go Butterfly, Eye of Skadi , Monkey King Bar/ Daedalus the standard stuff

Manta Style is really situational now on PL because he has his purge in the form of his Doppelganger plus it is available every 8 seconds late game. Upgrade your diffusal

Alternative Terrorblade gimmick build.
Only do this if you have mid game impact. PL is mid game hero now so i wont advocate this build

I love PL Mid. I've tried it a few time lately and haven't failed yet. I rush bottle (even easier now if you can get 100 gold bounty rune to start) and max out Phantom Lance (Q) to start. I go brown boots second for speed running to runes, and then build out diffusal right after that. I do my best to gank hard. If you take mid and get lvl 7 with max Q, 2-3 lances will take down just about anyone that early. You have to play it safe though since your health is low and towers will eat you up early.
