A penny for your thoughts: Region Lock

This is the part that annoy's me. I have my language settings on English only, but i still get plenty of Cyrillic languages on my teams.

To be fair though, i think every Russian/Ukrainian/Eastern European on DotA speaks better English than i speak anything but English*.




*Being a Geordie some Englishmen would even argue that.

My honest thoughts on this are that the players in SEA servers generally dont want to team play
They are ****ty players who have no understanding of game mechanics.
if this would be the case, i would never be able to go EU west and have some of the best games i have had in the recent week( got into EU west to check whether i would be able to come in the in house, stayed and liked the overall crop of players here). Even russians are good. dunno why they are blamed, the real idiots are in SEA

Supports continue to farm and feed rather than ward, calling themselves carries, while supposed "carry" feeds, has no item sense, no dmg, nothing and I am stuck carrying 4 guys, playing a literal 1v9 match

Woah Woah haters, m not a racist, nor do i say all peruvians are bad, neither do i say that all Indians are good players, believe me, we are the most toxic player out there.
But that is because we get to witness such action every other game, however well the game is going, someone ruins it. Contrary to popular belief we are team players, its just that most can't make out the difference between all the nationalities.

We rot with trash, but this does not excuse our toxicity, neither does it excuse us being forced to play with people, who are not even playing, they just get up one day trying to ruin our day.

Oh how my AA, Invoker and Earth Spirit have suffered.

To me people who spam potang ina bobo all day while having selected english as their preference are NOT welcome.

Hey man! I'm brazilian too. Peruvians are really a problem, but most of the brazilian players are no good too. Got a match two days ago, and a brazilian in my team abandoned right after feeding the first blood (3 minutes of the game). We won the match. Don't know if locking people in specific country-servers will help, Brazil isn't the best place to play online solo games.

I'll preface this by saying I am generally a very patient, and understanding person- further I speak spanish fluently which also has the perk of making me capable of understanding a fair bit of portugese.
However, recently my dota playing experience has become negatively impacted by people unable to speak english, or any other language I am capable of comprehending, to the point of that I really feel I should have some sort of means of ensuring that I can at the very least communicate with my team.
I propose (and perhaps it has been put forth by others, but I have missed it) that we be allowed to opt-in on a region lock for ourselves.
Let me be very clear; I don't think we should restrict who can play on which server, but I DO believe I should have the option of choosing to play only with people in my region, and that the queue pool for games in which I queue be drawn from only individuals in the regions I have selected.
This means if russian, ukranian, chinese, brazillian, or mexican players want to play on the USE/USW servers - then they are perfectly capable of doing so, just not with me if I have region locked myself.
This seems as simple and elegant a solution to the problem of players constantly flooding the USE/USW servers and then completely not paying any heed to the fact that they have checked the 'english' language box yet have no intention whatsoever of making any sort of effort at communicating in english.

LOL, there is a peruvian server, REGION LOCK keeps them out, not in.

My favourite are stacks that don't speak the language yet don't lane together. Had a Malaysian 3 stack on the Aus server and each of went to a different lane, I suggested they tri-lane safe as it seemed logical if they couldn't communicate with us well. But no it was:

Me: 3 top? Me mid? *Other team mates name* bot?

Other team mate agrees
No response from stack.

Wait 30 seconds, pick SF, team mate picks DS.

10 seconds to go...

No me mid (picks Pudge)
Me top (picks Riki)
Me bot (picks Void)
