Who is the hardest hero to learn/use?

I define most difficult as lowest margin of Error.

So, I guess I'm gonna go with Earth Spirit here. Mainly because not only does screwing up a Rolling Boulder lead to you dying, but you have an extremely limited amount of time to make in impact on the game.

Followed closely by Meepo., due to his snowball dependence, and the fact that if you micro poorly, you die as well, which is worse than anything that happens with Chen.

Invoker, playing him properly is hard, but you can have moderate success by just going for Meteor and Tornado and just using those, so I don't consider him as hard as the other two.

Also, Arc Warden is also pretty hard, so much emphasis on singling people out and lots of micro as well. Not as difficult as Meepo tho.

Earth Spirit of course.
Because you screw up once then you are all dead.
At least meepo has a long ranged disable and free tp.
Morphling is basically morphling xD
Chen and Phoenix is.... sit xD
Invoker is not that hard as long ad you memorize skills.

Earth Spirit and Meepo for me have the same skill cap, ES requires accurate mouse pointing and timing. Meepo isn't all about blink+poof too since you need to be the hero that outfarms any carry in the game. Chen is right after ES and Meepo because he isn't that hard if you have micro experience.

Agreed on Invoker being somewhat usefull even if not used well. Properly using him though is very hard since most of his skills are not targeted skills.

Earth Spirit guide in 4 lines :

- roll into fight
- Ult
- Keep dropping stones to deal more damage
- Use your Q and E on the stones for even more damage

Hero is actually pretty cheap when you think about it. Sure there's this high skill cap thing but any kid can roll on a guy, press R, and drop stones on his face.

This comment is so full of jelly that I can't even express myself. That is why Earth Spirit has the lowest winrate on dotabuff.

Jelly of what? I play him. I find him cheap when I play him.

For me he's more like Pudge or Mirana (doing the same combo over and over) than like Invoker/ Meepo (infinite possibilities and adaptability).

Because you can actually play him well. I find Invoker cheap as well, just because I know how to play him. Come to think of it, any hero can be cheap because you can play them well.

Well when I first played Earth Spirit I had difficulties with aiming sometimes I kick front but it goes sideways, after a week of bot practice I finally got the hang of it. His only difficult skill is Boulder Smash in my opinion. Maybe others have the same problem like I once had? Not enough practice.

Boulder Smash was really awkward before 6.82...kind of like playing soccer, you needed to aim with exactly the right angle, and it was always a bit off. Now it's really easy, you just click where you want it to go.


Cheap doesn't mean easy to play btw. Void is cheap as hell but you still see LodA missing chronos. Cheap = do the same stuff again and again and it works.
