Why is there no way to reset your mmr?

It wouldn't change anything but your initial MMR, you eventually be where you're suppose to be at.

well no... thats not true...

because i was dumb and did all my ten games within the first 2 days of ranked coming out. i was exceptionally bad back then.

i have climbed over 1.1k in mmr since then and im still climbing i am just super super freakin lazy and would rather just play 10 games and get where im supposed to be then play another 100 or so...

They should make this possible, but maybe like can only be done once a month.

You're just hoping to get calibrated to a rank where you WISH to be. That's different from being where you SHOULD be, there's a reason why Valve has you play X amount of games so the calibration games can be a bit more accurate.

I see what you are saying nubtrain but at least valve could insert a feature that at say lvl 100 you can reset ur mmr. Just an idea.

I doubt there'd be any point, there's a lot of theories on how MMR is calibrated. Personally, I beleive the one about it being largely determined on your "unranked MMR", i.e. the invisible value that determines what "level" of players you get matched with in Unranked. A reset wouldn't do anything in this case.

If you're good enough, you can win 2/3 games and climb the ladder. If not, you're probably where you deserve to be.

Let's say, that someone has 2k MMR. He calibrated too quickly and he was very new to this game. Since then he did not touch any ranked game.

My question is: does your MMR affect your unranked games? Matchmaking is looking for players that are on your MMR and have similar number of games played/winrate even in unranked games?

idk, In ranked I am around 1850, but in unranked I often stomp and people I play with add me, they are mostly 3-4k and I seem to have did better than them? I don't really understand...

ok so to clear it up a bit

i was lvl 20 and had 300 games. i was bloody horrible.

then the patch came out with ranked in it.

that weekend i played all ten of my games in a row. (stupid i know)

i got calibrated at 1.5k mmr

then i didnt touch it for months now im level 210 with over 1500 games and am playing in high skill games when i pub. i went back to ranked and slogged out my games and completely stomped to around 2.5k mmr and i still am stomping its just i really cant be ****ed playing another 100 games to raise it to 3k or 4k.

why cant valve just give some form of reset like

here buy this for 10$ and it will reset our ranked mmr so you have to play 10 calibration games again.

i would rather play 10 games and pay 10$ then play 100.

TL;DR..... im lazy and want to reset my mmr cause i was stupid.
