Is Medusa hardest carry in game?

I recently played one game when i have lifestealer and also we have phantom lancer in team and we both raping enemy team hard and we got 6 slotted, so we think we will win easy, but their medusa got 6 slotted with rapier too and in last team fight she got rampage and outcarried us both and in the end win the 72 minute game.

we sacrificed double kills to save her.

we lost towers and took fights just to keep the focus off her.

we were down to rax and a tower.

at 44 minutes she came out with

"kill her quick, kill her early or give up."

She's the second hardest carry in the game. Slightly less than Void, slightly more than Spectre. Leagues above Morphling, PL, Naga and Terrorblade.

Kill her early, kill her often, end at 25 minutes.

Medusa is pretty much the stereotype of an ultra-hard carry : she's completely useless before 45 minutes, she's unstoppable after 50 mins, and she can't do anything but farm.

If the enemy team has a Medusa you're basically playing 5 vs 4 for 40 minutes. That's why many, many players say that Dusa is just unplayable : useless without 25K+ gold of farm and garbage space-taking mid game. She's really a hero made for 1-hour long games, and we hardly ever see 1-hour games anymore.

Medusa is a pretty hard counter to illusion heroes like PL so the fact that she owns PL is not surprising. Medusa pick, 70-minute game => Medusa wins, no surprise here. You just can't teamfight against a fed Medusa, split push is pretty much the only thing you're left with. Or you can try to chainstun Medusa with mass Skull Basher/ Abyssal Blade/ Scythe of Vyse. But the best is just to never get to that point and finish the game early. You're really playing 5 v 4 for 45 minutes so it shouldn't be that hard.

In terms of damage and survivability, Medusa is pretty much unmatched when the game gets 50+ minutes, but with all the conditions needed (read: needs tons of farm, can't do much besides farm, no mobility) whether or not she's the "hardest" carry or not is not as important as is she the most fit carry for your lineup.

Also, Anti-Mage takes care of her very well, in the same way that Sven beats Phantom Lancer, but Lancer in most cases will "outcarry" Sven.

Arguably, yes. Medusa would be one of the hardest carries (if not THE hardest) in the game.

On the flip side, she's a creep until she gets her farm. She's a worse version of a Weaver. She needs her Linken's Sphere to ensure staying alive. After that she starts building her core - Manta Style, Eye of Skadi. This will usually take 35-40 minutes. Until this point she's useless. But once she gets her core, she's unstoppable. Split Shot with some DPS items wrecks teamfights. Mana Shield makes it next to impossible to burst her down. Stone Gaze late game is insane. It allows you to disengage or initiate at your will. It is, in my opinion, a slightly more powerful version of Song of the Siren.

TL;DR: Don't go late game against a Medusa. If you see the enemy pick a Medusa, there's playing 4v5 for the first 40 mins. Pick strong pushers and win the game by then.

She is one of the hardest carries but not the hardest. With the recent buffs to heroes, some of them can take her down.

She can Manfight 95% of heroes without any trouble.
She is a teamfight hero, so she is even scarier with other enemies around, she can literally go in 1v5, pop BKB, press R and H and win pretty often if she has loads of farm.
