How to play Dark Zeer.......

Many builds I have seen builds tank-up items. Why would he need tank items? Ion shell?

Mostly for the active ability on the tanky items. Blade mail is pretty much amazing on him if he's being targeted from range.

Shiva's active is too good to pass up on him.

He is a very good mek carrier.

Most active items work well on him.


Dark Seer is what we like to call a utility hero. You rely more on the gear he buys than his abilities half the time.

His abilities need tank items... explain pls

So he is a natural tank and must be enhanced?

Ion Shell yourself, Surge, and jump in the middle of the action. You need to be tanky to do that.

Also the Vacuum/ Wall of Replica combo has a really short cast range, so Dork Seer is an initiator with a pretty YOLO playstyle.

Mekansm and Shiva's Guard are really good on him. The slow from shivas also has a great synergy with his teamfight combo.

However selfish tank items like Vanguard or Heart of Tarrasque are not that good, he needs to build utility for teamfights and pushes. So utility items with tankiness built into them like Pipe of Insight, Aghanim's Scepter, Necronomicon, etc are more suited to him.

You get items that have active abilities on them. So you will be using your own abilities along with the gear active abilities.

He's supposed to buy utility items. Most of these items also happen to be "tanking" items, but that's not the reason you buy them. You typically have a lot of gold but not much carry potential. Expensive utility/aura items like shiva/pipe are the best way to turn that gold into an advantage for the team.
