I'm not sure about Ring of Basilius on Timbersaw... On paper it looks nice: Amor he yells for and mana regen. Like a little Arcane Aura for the laning phase. The damage is useless but the rest could be could pre- Bloodstone?

Damage is not useless. Every single bit helps to last hit on the offlane under the tower, or in the lane.

Great item on him imo. Some nice mana regen + armour which he needs. Goes well with his passive that gives armour and helps regen armour between Timber Chain's and as Wulfstan mentioned. any damage for last hiting is greatly wanted.
Your new diet for heroes; You will need 4 wards (cuz wards taste better), 1 set of tangoes, 1 mango, 1 cheese.
With this you can make a nice Tango Mango Cheese platter. You can wash this all down with a nice bottle of water, Can be flavoured with red, green, yellow, blue, purple AND GOLD!
Caution: Taking roshan 3 times is required.

Ok. That with the damage is of course nice, because i cannot lasthit too well with his autoattacks, not well enough at least. (perhaps that's personal "noobishness").

There's also the fact it builds into a Vladmir's Offering. Timbersaw is pretty self sufficient once he has enoguh Mana regen, so once you'v got your Eul's + BKB, you can skip Bloodstone and get Utility Items to help your Team.
