The biggest reason you won however, is probably that this Phantom Lancer doesn't know how to Rat (I'd need to watch the replay to confirm that). You shouldn't have been able to catch him out with Global Silence either since he had Manta Style and Diffusal Blade to Purge it, so how he failed to Rat you to death is beyond me...8{(
Finally, why Pick Omniknight 1st and Mirana last? 8{(
Omniknight is a very good pick against Tombstone, but the enemy sucked and did not conform to the pick, and they also picked Death Prophet??? So there's Exorcism countered too.
i didnt draft this one my mate did but i think it worked out nicely late middle game.
Black King Bar is made redundant with Refresher Orb since even if they BKB out of the first one the second one is applied to them.
Mirana was picked i think because a) he likes Mirana and b) we tried to force teamfights as soon as we got six and with Moonlight Shadow Earthshaker could get in close for his Echo Slam (yes ye are correct Wulfstan and also Mirana was played offlane so it was a quick 6.
yes i know it can i love running a Naga Siren against a Silencer since i just purge myself and then Song of the Siren and then the advantage is lost. also Nubs dont seem to know it can so getting raged at when you do it is quite funny.
but Global Silence is not a solo target ability. if they all went Black King Bar... Refresher Orb would make it redundant. they would then have to build another item on top of that to purge themselves.
Using Manta Sytle would just make Echo Slam even more potent.
Omniknight was picked first cause the Strategy from the start was to see how well the combo would work. Thus we have the Tinker Shadow Shaman bans (GO AWAY RATS). 2nd Reason is that ... NO ONE picks him first so it looks like a weird pick and throws them off a bit.
they then drafted in a Skywrath Mage making laning Omniknight a lot easier since we all know he is HORRIBLE early game.
2. the enemy strategy to Global Silence or Guardian Angel is to retreat then re engage once it has worn off. Earthshaker stops that from happening with Multiple AoE stuns stopping them from doing that.
also Repel allowed Troll to sustain in fights and not be stun locked.
the only weakness with this combo though is Really Really early game Push. since the Online time for the combo is quite late. thus the 5 towers down by 30 min mark.
Also, why on earth would Phantom Lancer want to purge Global Silence of off him? That's like giving away which is the real one.
When he decides to join a Teamfight he can win. Just because he's meant to be a Rat doesn't mean you're forbidden from taking easy Teamfights if they happen, e.g. when Global Silence + Refresher Orb are on Cooldown and your Team Smoke of Deceits up. 8{3
