I CANNOT stand the cooldown on Invoke. At levels 1-3 it is ridiculously long, and at level 4 while reasonable it's still far too long. So yes, I always get Ags, usually after Euls. When playing Quas Wex though, you're usually better off with an Orchid and saving Ags till lategame... then get a Blink Dagger and of course refresher. It's a 'luxury' item, but if you're finding you run out of options too fast pick up Ags and go get solo rampages.

I pretty much always go for aghs because I invoke...really fast, I have been known to **** up invoker combos quite a bit because I do it to fast. Besides I need aghs for all my pro grimorium combos :D, but really, if you play invoker like he is meant to be played you need aghs, all you guys who get Daedalus, come at me 1v1 Mid and you will just be destroyed my my spells while you pathetically try and poke me with your big red stick.
I wouldn't say you need refresher to make aghs viable but it is awesome with aghs
My favorite combo is one of grimoriums: forge spirits-blink in-deafening blast-icewall-tornado-emp-meteor-refresher-emp-meteor-deafening blast and then follow up if people are alive
Even without refresher its still extremely powerful, its pretty hard to pull of though and s something you only do once a game due to aching fingers and a headache after thinking through it as you have to invoke every time its off cooldown no matter what or it doesn't work
Aghs is only usefull if you aim for a Aghs + Refresher build.
Apart from that i cannot imagine a scenario where Aghs > scythe.
Even if you want to win early, just get a fast necro 3 and push with it (give Alacrity to meleenecro for additional demolition power)
After Hex you very often need a bkb to survive fights. After that noone gives a **** about that 1 or 2 more spells you can use with Aghs in a fight, that will actually be of any use at all.
EMP becomes pretty bad later on, because heroes have way too much mana to care about it.
You will always get off your maincombo and everything else is very situational anyway (sunstrike, qqwalk, ice wall)
I think it is pretty much like Aghs on Tinker. In theory it is good, if you get it early, but there are just way better options you can get. And later on it just becomes a pretty much wasted slot.
