I just noticed that they've updated the Stats and info displayed on our profiles on DOTABuff

http://dotabuff.com/

From these new Stats, I've learned the following things about myself:-
  • I win more when I don't play on EU West or US West/East
  • I win more when I don't play All Pick or Captain's mode
  • Radiant is better than Dire! >8{D
  • My last name change was to Ð¥ÑÑÑÑ, which is Russian for "Hyrus" X{D
  • When I play with Sando in a 4 or 5-stack, it's a "Very High Skill" Game >8{D

The other games, we played with n00bs who walked into RP and flamed me for not Feeding, then against a Tinker who slaughtered when we didn't focus him, with a Support Naga who saved him when we did...not fun 8{(

What have you learned from your shiny new Stats?

  • I am very surprised that I have 235 Single Draft matches. I can't remember playing it!
  • Dire is better than Radiant
  • On Russian server my win rate is below 50% (not playing there anymore)

  • I lose a lot when I play with Xyrus.

Jokes aside, I like this "very high skill" classification: as I can see, I usually play very high skill matches when solo queueing, while some of my friends bring me down to a lower level. Also, looks like Single Draft is the best game mode for me, though I never find supports to pick. Lastly, I have a huge win ratio when playing outside of normal MM.

Honestly, I'd say the "Very High Skill" classifications are part of the joke as well.

There's Aghanim's Scepters on Outworld Devourer, Sange and Yasha on Mirana, Bristleback rushing a Heart of Tarrasque, Juggernaut building a Shadow Blade then trying to build a Battle Fury.

*Sigh* Pub n00bs... ._.

Yeah, but at least I know which friends play in lower skill pubs. That Juggernaut, though... He also had a decent timing for the BF, I don't know why he decided to keep the Perseverance without upgrading it.

This is actually pretty funny... I prefer Radiant overall, but here are some benefits to the dire:

Creeps don't split at base (easier block)
Easier access to bottom rune
Trees around enemy tier 1 (for Shackleshot and Timber Chain etc.

Same here. It possibly means that our MMR is still too low.

But the Skill classification isn't working properly. I've read that it is possible to calculate "skill" level in matches, where many players have enabled sharing match history. The system can't "judge" level of play of each hero in each match (even with enabled sharing match history). This is the comparision probably based on all levels of Dota 2 I guess, so it is for people with 9000 matches and with 100 matches as well. I am not sure why having 0 - 6 and losing a game is called "Very High Skill". I know that someone can play very well and the lost was someone else's fault , but The System cannot simply judge it. There are no thousands of DOTABuff employees watching each replay and marking someone's "Skills".

I would like to know how is that working.

I don't play ranked, it's probably because of that. I may have played a couple matches with friends, and winning 6-7 out of 10 matches isn't that hard.

Yeah, if you have a stack with picks that compliment each other, it can be really easy to win (cough Xyrus's trilane with Rubick/ Ancient Apparition/ Mirana - even my rusty Mirana was enough to win easily!). Saying that, the difference between a 4 stack fighting a 5 stack can be quite extreme.

The difficulty is that some stacks don't make particular synergy picks, while some do, and the ones that do tend to win easily.
