Wow, is it a lack of imagination, lack of gameplay experience, or an amazing amount of free time to wait around for broken games to finish for the anti-concede crowd? There are intentional feeders out there, people. I just finished one tonight where our 0-18 necro just walked down the lane, died without casting, and wouldn't or couldn't communicate. A 4 of 5 vote to concede is an extremely reasonable request. And I absolutely agree that comebacks are a great part of the game, but if you can't convince one other teammate that you have a shot at it, well, sorry but it doesn't balance out the waste of time of everyone else when the game is obviously busted.

That's somebody to report, and should not be used as an example for conceding. Not saying feeders aren't annoying but they get punished and therefore shouldn't be used as part of an argument.

Very well said.

People are acting like having the option to concede with a 4/5 vote and a 20-30 minute gate means comebacks will no longer exist.

There is no coming back when you are severely outleveled, outfarmed, being fountain-dived, and have four barracks down. Games like this continue on for an additional 30+ minutes, and it's exactly the sort of situation where a concede option is called for.

I was once in a game where all our rax fell and they still had tier 1's standing, oh and also their lowest level was 2 levels higher then our highest at this point, in the end we won the game.

Tbh that's more of a throw from the opposition than a comeback.

That's not true, I once played with a Medusa who Carried us to victory after a Bloodseeker foolishly Fed her a Divine Rapier, we had lost all but our Bottom Rax, were comepletely Out-Leveled and Out-Farmed, lost every Teamfight, but we turned it around. I know that porygon had a similar game (he even thought it was the same game X{D), so these comebacks do happen, albeit only when you have picks that can make comebacks.

This isn't about conceding. It's about leaving a match that is a waste of the limited amount of time you have in your life without being punished with low priority.

Anyone who opposes a concede option in pubs still hasn't answered the question as to why they don't object to it in team match making games. They just stone wall and avoid the subject.

BTW..... I found out how to concede without getting an abandon. But I'm not going to post it on here because looney toons will send the info to Valve, because they'd rather spend the precious hours they have before they eventually pass away playing a boring match when the usual purpose of gaming is entertainment.

And this topic still goes on: please, I know many of you want to add a concede option, but I believe Valve will never implement them for regular matches because if kind of defeats all the chances of making comebacks. I know that "there is no coming back when you are severely outleveled, outfarmed, being fountain-dived, and have four barracks down", but adding that option would also prevent players from having comebacks in less extreme situations. It has a huge impact on the mindset of players.

I have to agree with Valve here, since I find concede options really annoying: talking about other MOBAs I've only played Smite (as I used to play LoL but I did so years ago and left it after a couple months), and "winning" because the enemy team just chooses to end the game permaturely is depressing. Seriously, I can't even feel like a winner that way.

If by Looney Toons you mean the majority of players that queue in matchmaking groups then you'll be surprised to know that many people know that if all 5 players disconnect on a team then none of the players are punished with low priority.

The reason I believe a concede option should not be implemented outside of private matches is because its not fair to the players that want to continue with the game. If you do not have the time in your schedule to finish what you started, the proper internet connection to reliably play, the attention span, or the hardware then I don't think you should be able to queue with other players who do and expect the same of you without being punished for it. You have every chance in the game to turn a losing game around. I think a good representation for this is if I'm playing a Team Death Match based game and the score is 25-50, the end game goal is 75, three players out of five drop from my team because they're close to losing, how fair is it to me and the remaining player to finish a 2 versus 5? For me I believe its completely unfair, but I also think its unfair to the enemy team if me and my teammate cut it short and also leave, cutting their game short. This is a game of strategy, the goal is victory and as long as you are in the game then you have a chance of victory, if you're not playing for victory then you should not be joining the public matchmaking without expectations of punishment. Adding the option in affects the direct mindset that its acceptable to give up in the middle of a match.

In Layman's terms: If you want purely unsupervised fun in a game go play a single player, open sandbox / no goal, or private game.

Edit: Entertainment is subjective.

Damn, valve must have fixed the the shadow amulet trick :( Oh well. Every time someone opposes concede, they ignore all of the previous suggestions such as voting. There doesn't appear to be any productive conversation to be had here...

Does anyone agree that really the best solution for this is for valve to fix the mmr system..... we wind don't want up with these ******ed matches where one team doesn't stand a ghost of a chance against the other due to the enermous skill gap? That way the game would at least be entertaining and both steams will still have a minor chance of winning up until nearly the end.
