Hi guys, this is my first real post.
I'm a new player (less than 100 games with real people), but I think I have a fairly good knowlendge of the game mechanics and dynamics.
I usually prefer to play support heroes, but I try to pay attention to team composition while picking.
Last night I picked Faceless Void because I tought my team lacked late game potential (I supposed it was a good pick because the other team had an Antimage and we had Pudge, Juggernaut, Lina and Jakiro).
I don't know if my pick was correct, but that is not the point of the thread.
I'm sure there were better options, but I'm still a noob, so bare with me.
The problems came during the laning phase: Pudge went mid, Jakiro and Lina went top and would not split because they were in a 2 stack, so I'm going bot with Juggernaut who would answer in russian when asked to leave the last hits to me, probably refusing to do so.
For 10 minutes I tried to last hit, but I'm not good at it even without competing with someone, so I disregarded the idea and decided to do the only good thing I could do that came into mind (and no, it was not jungling).
I know the concept of a support Faceless Void is ridiculous and that the game was lost in the moment i decided to compete for last hits, but this takes me to the general question I wanted to ask:
What can I do to support my team, other than warding, dewarding, pulling and denying when I'm using a hero with no support skills?
I'm not asking how I could have won that game, but I'm trying to become a better support player and I tought you guys could help.
If their team has an anti mage i would not pick faceless void. Especially if you are not the best at last hitting. If an enemy has anti mage i would have picked a hero that can end the game sooner. Not a hero that is useless untill 30 minutes.
Also anti mage farms faster then void.
Personally i would have picked kunnka. But i understand that not everyone can play him. Pick a hero that has carry potential but can fight early. Lifestealer, chaos knight. Or even windrunner. These heroes are all great against AM becouse they have lockdown and early phisical damage.
Still that 2 stack ****ed you over by dual laning 2 supports. You couldnt have known this but if you want to play safe, pick something like windrunner, silencer, mirana, earth spirit, axe, centaur.
Heroes that you can play as a farmer or without early farm.

The first thing you should try to do, if your "Carry" wants to take the Last Hits, is to ensure he gets those Last Hits by Harrassing his laning opponents...although this can be difficult with a Hero like Faceless Void. If you find he's having trouble Last Hitting, then ask your Mid for a Gank.
Another thing you should do is to watch the Minimap and make sure none of the other Lanes have forgotten to call "Missing" and to make sure you always call Missing. Don't rely on this kind of Team to warn you of incoming Ganks, or be aware of incoming Ganks themselves. (You can Alt+Click a Hero's portrait along the top of the screen to call Missing [HeroName]).
The next main thing you should focus on is building useful Items for the Team, such as Urn of Shadows or Mekansm, but before you do, say "Building Mek" to let your Team know you're building it, and check their Inventories to make sure they aren't already building 1.
The best thing you can do to be honest, is to find a 5-stack to play with, at your level, your Teammates won't understand their basic Roles, which you obviously do, and you deserve a better Team than that 8{(
In that situation you described, just think if you can actually help Juggernaut in his lane. You have absolutely no way in which you can help, being a melee hero with no harass. Jug can solo so just leave him, all you're doing is taking xp. Probably the best think to do is just pull the creeps for a few quick levels, and then roam (lol roaming support void :-D)
His first skill would be quite nice for the delayed stuns of lina and jakiro as it would make the enemies slower, so maybe you could roam there and get a kill on the hereos there (probably not the anti-mage).Once you get your ultimate you can be a great help to your team as the ability to hold enemies in place for that long is always beneficial. If possible get them at the edge of the chrono so juggernaut can still attack them, but that would only be possible if they're stunned.
All skill can be used as a support if you're creative enough, just use some imagination :p

I was using Time Walk after initiation in teamfights for the slow as you suggested and then running away because I was too squishy to stay there and bash people.
Thank you all guys for the feedback.
With this thread I wanted to start a discussion about "how to play unusual roles with certain heroes when is needed", so feel free to share your experiences.
Faceless Void beats the living **** out Anti-Mage if FV goes for an Battle Fury and competes with AM over farming.Goes online at the same time AM would.
Now, since you had Jakiro on your team, Faceless Void was the good choice. Macropyre + Chronosphere would rape early game teamfights, allowing you to grow.If AM would chose to farm and not fight early with a Vanguard (or something else, just fight early), his team would have lost the game before 30 minutes in.
