So. It's gotten to the point that, yeah, I'm semi-ranting but I'm also asking for advice.

I am someone who plays supports almost exclusively unless I randomed and no one will swap. I know how to carry, I just don't enjoy it. The problem is, I am being made into matches with people with a quarter my wins and a quarter my time played. Some of them are better than or as good as myself, but plenty, at least half, are frustratingly bad. I know everyone has bad games, I respect that, but it's consistent and my winrate is abysmal as of late. "What if you're the problem, not them?" In many games, I am the problem and I let my carry down. But in far more, it seems to me, being as objective as possible, that they are doing much worse than I am. When our carry is doing badly when I give them free kills and free farm and safety from ganks and detection and wards and smoke and dying for them and the enemy has no carry even close to the caliber of ours (say, someone who instantly locked Phantom Lancer against a team whose biggest carry is a Storm Spirit) I don't understand, particularly when it's this way in at least 1/3 of my games.

That's enough of a rant, though. I feel like I need to boost my matchmaking rating so I can play a support and, when I do amazing babysitting, have a reliable carry. And I know that's not going to be the case 100% of the time, but I feel like it should be a lot more often than it is as of late. So, what do I need to do to boost my matchmaking rating without picking a stompy carry? I just like supporting, and I'd like to do that as I get out of this low-skill pool. I know it won't be a magical land of wonder where all the players are amazing but from all the streams I've ever seen, when they get a random pub who plays carry, they have at the very least a basic grasp of what to do. I don't want to consistently babysit someone who, with freefarm, picks up a 15 minute Hand of Midas.

Tell me how to get out of this rut ;~;

348 wins, 314 losses, but as of this past week 65% of my games were losses.

I've been in 80% loss weeks, they'll turn around. My only advice is to stop playing AP. If you are looking to support people who know how to carry (and are more serious about the game), try queuing CM.

I only play Random Draft and Single Draft. As for CM, I never ever ever play CM without a 5 man. The only 3 times I haven't has ended with people who don't know English in the captain's chair.

Welp. Looks like I'm just gonna have to only play with 5 mans for as long as it takes.

Try playing more aggressive supports, like Nyx Assassin,or a jungle Axe building Mekansm.It will allow your team to actually make mistakes, but once you get that level 6, you can undo them.Then just proceed to 5 man.

Check this out, I didn't have much fun on that Sunday, but slowly I am crawling back to +30:

Yeah as Wulfy said, have a look at aggressive supports or ones with big ultimates - your individual stats/performance ingame is apparently ignored when it comes to matchmaking - it's all to do with how many games your team wins.

Although playing a good hard support will boost your team's chances of winning, you are reliant on them not making terrible picks or decisions, and to take advantage of your support work.

Semi-support gankers can allow you to dictate the pace of the game more and have more impact if things aren't going well. Same with big team fight heroes - even a fairly bad team can win if you give them good enough initiation.

Yay, I'm on the screenshot D:
"When game is going full ******, you can only go with it. If you start going against it, if you start going half ******, you´re ****ing done for. When Aloha decides to go middle rubick you let him, and you start buying orb of venom on invoker. That's how dota works" -n0tail

Okay, that's nice advice. Still relies a lot on my team, but less than before.

I'm scared of pubs ;_________________________________________________;

There is nothing worse then playing an awesome support only to have your carry not farm well.
Not much you can do except try and stack up with a lane partner unfortunately.
Make it clear to your lane partner that they need to get all the farm
