Major DOTAFire Patch: Blog System, Avatars, Steam Accounts, Much More!

We've just put up a major update :) Let me go over what's new!

Blog System

We've launched a blog system on DOTAFire, it's just for fun, everyone that registers on DOTAFire gets their own personal blog and your articles will also get listed on the homepage and on the community blog listing page.

You can write about anything you want as long as you categorize your off topic articles as such! The full bbcode library can be used in your article text, and each blog article has its own comment feed.

We look forward to seeing what you guys do with this new system!!

Guides In Hero Database

There is now a list of top guides on each hero's database page! This should help draw more eyes to your guides and is also just generally much more convenient :)

Updated Avatars

By popular demand, FlashJ has put together a tonne of new avatars and they're all up! Head on over to your profile section to see what's new and put on a fresh face!

Steam Accounts

We have added a "Steam Account" field to the profile section, you can add your steam account here and it will be displayed next to all your comments. The goal here is to make it easy for others to find you and join matches with you! It's entirely optional and we may improve this system later by pulling in your stats and allowing steam signatures and such, but for now it's just a handy bonus.

Updated Profile Design

We've reworked the menus and some of the layouts throughout the profile section. There is now a common menu across almost all profile pages which makes it easier and much more consistent when navigating through your profile, blog and messages.

Bug Fixes

There are also a pile of minor bug fixes and updates that are included in this patch. I'm not going to go through them all but this is always a good thing :)

So check out the new updates and let us know what you think!! If you spot any issues with these new features let us know here and we'll get on it right away. This is a pretty big update so there are sure to be a few.

Thanks a lot for the updates on the update, by the way. I was wondering what else was new when I noticed the blog button in the profile.

I'm excited to see how this programme develops as time goes on. :P
