I love how people react when they're matched with people with same tag before nickname (for example my "clan" made of friends, [TA]). When we are owning they are crying like "omg why you're playing in normal mmr, you noobs" or "is it fun to own group of randoms?". But when we are losing, they start to nerd rage like "XAXAXAXA", "TA = gay" or something like that, and our random team mate (im talking about 4 man stack + random for example, or 3 man + 2 random) always say "omg why I must be paired with such gay team", "l2p" etc. Sometimes I'm thinking about removing [TA] from my nickname and just start playing normal dota without all this rage.
"When game is going full ******, you can only go with it. If you start going against it, if you start going half ******, you´re ****ing done for. When Aloha decides to go middle rubick you let him, and you start buying orb of venom on invoker. That's how dota works" -n0tail
I think the practice mode they've tagged on to the tutorial (plus the limited heroes mode) will be really helpful for new players. After that I think they can continue using it, and should be skill-matched with similar players (that 10 games is probably enough to get an idea and place them correctly). The problem with letting players specify their search parameters is like some other games were people smurf or go out of their way to n00b stomp. The DOTA community isn't exactly known for being friendly, so this is the last thing you'd want!
I'd also like to see the specific roles lobby/mode - it would sometimes make it much easier to figure out what everyone should be doing. Then again, would it end up restricting team compositions/strategy etc? Getting people to agree exactly what a 1,2,3,4,5 hero is could also be tricky :)
While I can say that I don't constantly bash 'noobs', I do it sometimes. The problem I have with most 'noobs' is that I tell them what they are doing wrong or what they should be doing and (instead of listening to me) they simply go on doing it or tell me to f*** off. I get that you (all 'noobs', not just op) don't know how to play the game, but if you won't listen to advice then how the f*** are you supposed to learn to.
Although I have been playing DotA for more than 6 years, I was still called noob in each match's start, just because my level in DotA2 isn't high, due to the fact that I have recently started playing DotA2.
I can tell you, I don't remember that I have ever played with anyone who was flaming others and was actually "pro".
Also, don't expect to be a professional quickly. Until now, I still have some heroes that I can't play with them better than a bot can do.
It's MUCH better to play with "real friends", so if they are better than you, they will teach you, and if they were as new to the game as you, you will still all be equal. I have only started playing "online" after a while of playing with friends only (usually no more than 3 vs. 3), and then AI for the times when they aren't free to gather and play.
Not all gamers are fat loosers with nothing else to do.
If you think playing a game all day is a waste of one's time then kid gaming isnt for you.
Try telling Dendi that Dota is a GAME. That he is wasting his time.
Dota is a competitive game. If u play it you WILL be subjected to criticism so grow up. If someone said something to you , then you probably deserved it.
If you are three weeks into the game dont go to higher brackets. Stick to the lower bracket.
The more experienced a player the more will be his anger at a noobish mistake. Everyone takes their sport seriously.
I for one try to control my anger at smaller mistakes. But when after repeatedly telling someone how to exactly do something they still make a mistake,THEN all hell is loose.
I hate it when a noob ruins my game. I get angry when a Chen tries to carry and steals my farm when i m playing a void or AM.
I do abuse those who spoil my day.
As for "BECOMING A PRO IN 10 DAYS" , There is NO such thing. Its like asking how to get 5 inchs thinner in a day or How to learn a new language in a week. In short it is idiotic Practice makes perfect
Every gaming community has it's toxic players section. The ones that give the remaining 90 or so percent a bad name. New players just seem to be the ones on the bad end of the "noob" calls. I used to be on said end, so, I understand where you're coming from. I found that the best thing to do is ignore them and keep playing rather than stoop to their level, give in, and flame right back. In time, you'll get better and you'll see less and less flaming(or atleast towards you).

Actually, you shouldn't really "ignore" them. Have you ever seen someone calling someone a noob without saying the reason for it? This only happens rarely, so, when someone calls you a noob, you usually have to listen to him, but still don't be depressed by being called a noob, it's really not a shame.
I really prefer that anyone who wants to learn the game should start by playing with real friends, who care for you, and will never try to tease you by flaming, wether winning or losing.
