Best of role

In scenario where Void catch true PL (even better if PL is in stealth to recognize him from illusions), PL have very small chance to survive, talking about good item build and lvl 25.
Situation will differ if we count PL jukes, illusions management (mana burn etc), then Void don't have such great chance.
Anyway Void have better synergy with buffs ( Empower, Bloodlust), and is generally counter for everyone, when PL is easily countered by cleave ( Faceless Void, Phantom Assassin, Gyrocopter, maybe Luna?).

According to the current competitive matches, I think these are the top Heroes:
Mid-game carries (the most used ones in the current meta): Lifestealer, Gyrocopter, Alchemist. Chaos Knight is considered the best carry if you have a Wisp on your team.
"Afk farm" carries: Anti-Mage, Phantom Lancer, Faceless Void, Spectre, Phantom Assassin; usually in this order of priority unless you have a certain stategy in mind.
I also belive those "carry pushers" deserve their own list: Lone Druid and Juggernaut are very common.
Off-laners: Dark Seer, Clockwerk, Nature's Prophet, Batrider.
Supports: Io, Nyx Assassin, Shadow Demon, Bane, Rubick and I'm sure I'm forgetting a lot of them. Treant Protector is also very useful when you have one of those afk farm carries or a weak mid/off-laner; Keeper of the Light was considered the (probably) best support a couple of months ago.
Mid laners: Queen of Pain, Puck, Storm Spirit. Magnus was tier 1 material a couple of months ago too, while Dragon Knight, Naga Siren and Doom are being experimented since the changes of the Captains Mode pick/ban system. Batrider was a very common mid but nowadays is usually played in the off-lane; he's still first ban material along with Wisp.

Peppo,you are kinda forgetting Visage and Undying.One of them is FotM and the other one was.

I was thinking about Visage but, I don't know why, I didn't put him in the list. Undying, along with Leshrac and Jakiro, was a lot popular but now he is almost never seen (except for Jakiro who is always played by Fnatic). Thank you, though. :D

How about Weaver :(

Weaver's not that common: I personally like this Hero a lot in the off-lane (as in pubs, unless the enemies are in a group, you rarely encounter a trilane) and I even managed to get a beyond godlike streak in ~15 minutes once; in tournaments he's usually picked for kiting enemy carries, especially Lifestealer, so it's kind of a situational Hero. He's still a good one, since after he farms his Linken's Sphere he is very difficult to get.

Also, Slark is another very rare mid pick, but still more common than Zeus and Warlock who had a small period of fame and then instantly disappeared.
