I cannot stress how frustrating this is. The MOBA genre has been popularized in the past few years or so, and Dota, League of Legends, and HoN, and Dota 2 all have some age, and yet, every single game you get a plethora of people who can't for the love of God last hit a creep. I think the reason is obvious. They lack the skill or the proper intuition or motivation, so instead they employ douchebag techniques with a 'whatever, I get it or I don't' mentality. This is fine for them, but very annoying when you have to lane with these people.

Some things I've encountered:

- They run back and forth, and try to sabotage your last hit
- They spam the S key, and when they attack, the minion is a flicker of health, and so nobody gets it
- They autoattack. THIS IS FINE, because at least you can time for it.
- The counter: they autoattack, but when they see you going for the last hit, they wait until they see you trying to attack.

They accomplish nothing by doing this. 90% of the time nobody gets the last hit. If they at least tried to properly last hit, the gold could be split evenly. But they're so selfish that because they aren't skilled whatsoever, their ally shouldn't get any gold either. That's not to mention the problems with positioning, ganking, pushing the lane, and something else they don't do: deny. It also makes it easier for the opponent to harass and deny creeps.

Honestly folks, people downplay how important it is to not autoattack. Can't last hit? Go practice. But when you act like a complete douchebag, you ruin the game.

Welcome to DotA 2, take a seat.

Unfortunately, DotA 2 or LoL or any other game will never get rid of beginners or people who simply can't play good. Single fix for this is playing with a party that you know is good and can play properly.

It isn't a problem in League. The mechanics are different. In League if someone is autoattacking or doing this, it is still pretty easy to get the last hit. Most complaints are in the range of 'stop pushing the lane', or 'stop stealing my creeps'. In Dota 2, it's not just stealing creeps or pushing the lane, it's effectively denying your own ally the creep.

Only really happens in the lower brackets where people are competing for farm instead of having a carry/support type system. If you're a better last hitter, and especially if your hero has more damage, it's usually easy enough to overcome.

Sadly, in Dota 2, you have to extend your skill in last-hitting to fighting for last hits with your Rubick support that wants to 'OWNSZ THE GAMEZZZ LIKE DENDIZZZ'. :P

I haven't had this problem in over 100 games. Just play more and pray you move up to a higher bracket.
