Hi,
I am writing a book which will be named "Dota", well, it will have word Dota in the title, and it uses some Dota characters. Is it permitted under copyright law? Can I use "Dota" in the title of my book and Dota characters?

I doubt you could if you were trying to make any money off of it, as is a general case for trademarks.

Otherwise, you'll have to look at the specifics; It might be valve's only gotten the trademark within a certain context, like a lot of trademarks

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

You can't use anything specifically in Dotaverse if you intend to profit from it, because that is copyrighted.

Note that if you don't intend to make money off of it then it's unlikely there will be a problem. I wrote a semi-novel-length piece in Dotaworld a while back, and no angry lawyers in crisp suits came up to take away my house.
