Commending Players

If you've played dota 2 for a certain period of time, you have no doubt heard this. Regardless of whether or not they deserve them, players always seem to be panhandling for commends.

Warlock steals my farm so he can make a dagon and keeps me from getting a 10-minute Blink Dagger on my Slardar? Yeah bro, you totally should be commended for your teamwork.

Anti-Mage flames me for refusing to tower dive a 3/4 health Sven with him? What a forgiving guy.

So, some questions. One, have you ever commended someone that asked to be commended, even if they went 0-30-4 and blamed you for being a "lousy support" or something of the like? Two, what sort of actions truly warrant being commended?

That I remember, I commended only two times in my doto life. None of those two were to guys that said "commend me" or alike. I remember one that I commended a guy that paused for the other team (this was a long) and some weeks ago that I played with a friend of mine - did it because he carried us to victory, even with lag issues.

People are still complaining this? Just ignore it, people. Besides, it is more of a joke than anything else. Really nothing to get so serious at.

Besides, if you played dota for some time you will realize that you couldn't care less to ask for commends.

People will commend you if you deserve one, simple as that.

We all have tilts. We all have awesome games.

Commends are to people as Mayweather's lossless record is to him.

It only matters to the individual who has them.

gg commend me is a troll thing to say lol

you say it as like a boot to their guts. you say it when you have just won and ur gloating.

thats about it.

I agree, it's pretty damn annoying. Fun fact: ALL spanish players know these words. They speak spanish the whole game, then say gg recommend plis. Same for russians.

and not to sound "serverist"

but i find other cultures/servers place greater importance upon commends.

for example playing with my SEA friends after every game its "commend me" "commend me pls" "gg commend me pls i won game for Team" and this is like 4kish.

i play with 5-6k friends on AU servers and if anyone says anything its usually either

"**** off you noobs cant do ****, our supports fed" or " carry noob cant even farm"

OR

"pls commend *insert teammates here* he did good job"

I always ignore these request because as long as they haven't been trolling (e.g. if enemy team Io is relocating people in our fountain) or harassing people in the all chat. I will report you if you deserve it (and in case of the SD my last match I would consider reporting him twice (starts harassing our team because of a pause and when they lose because of his feeding (and his premade WD building carry with aghs refresher orb (doesn't work against a team that has 3 people who have 1 or more stuns) he says report the other 2 people who were doing way better then them (and I haven't seen them do anything I found reportable))

I don't really care about people who asks for commendations, actually i have left a lot of people who would have deserved it with out commendation just because they asked for the commened.

My most know answer to "commend plz" is "sorry but i don't commend commend *****s"
