I entered a game, I had to choose between Io, Nyx Assassin and Outworld Devourer. I've chosen Nyx Assassin. I am not experienced with this hero, but I did quite well. This is not, however, what I would like to discuss. It is the Puck's behaviour.
When my hero spawned, I asked using voice-chat if I should go offlane. Puck immediately responded with: "nyx reported" and started flaming me, with this ridiculous russian accent. I responded: "calm down, I just want to know where I should go", and he said on all chat, that I am using abusive language and that everyone should report me. I just ignored him, so did all of the players.
He was then silent, 'till he decided to help me on top with a gank. When he was getting close to Radiant's offlane, enemies went back. They clearly had vision on the top rune.
Puck went furious. He started yelling at me, saying things like I am reported, all of his friends will report me and my Steam account. He was speaking half English and half Russian. After this incident I decided I should mute him.
Game was fine, we were shutting down Spectre very hard and we basically secured a win. After 15 minutes I unmuted Puck just to check if something has changed, and he was flaming me ALL THIS TIME, even though he knew I muted him. This was really insane. We were both doing our things, he was on the completely different part of the map and he was saying: "nyx reported you piece of ****, shut the **** up ****ing ******" - just to himself. I wasn't even saying or writing anything. It was like a mantra.
What is interesting here, is that we were clearly winning this game, and I missed my stun only once. I was even giving him Bottle charges, I was buying wards from time to time, I also let him finish off an enemy once or twice, even though I could have easily killed them myself.
I know that many players are mad when things go wrong, but when you are stomping an enemy, it shouldn't really happen. From my point of view, any sane human being wouldn't act like this. This has to be some kind of mental ilness, I am not joking. That was utterly horrendous.
I have question to Russians. Do you have in Mass Media some heavy anti-Western Culture propaganda? Maybe it's related to eduaction? It's just impossible to hate someone so much, without a single proper reason. This is no coincidence that so many Russians and Ukrainians are so hateful and unpleasent in relations. I am not saying that all of them are terrible, but I experienced so much aggresion and plain stupidity from some players from these nations, that I can't ignore this.
Do you have any good explanation of this kind of behaviour? I would be really grateful.
Maybe... Have you said, where are from/have avatar with your flag/something symbolic? idk. I once said I was from Poland and well... That was the worst game I had ever played.
But rly, haters gonna hate no matter what the reason is (or no reason at all). And yes, it's possible to hate someone so much. It is.
And seriously... I have found that Russians flame rly hard. I don't know why it is like that, but I guess... Propaganda. But Russians may think the same about us, so idk. It's just that person who was well, ******ed. Ignore and go on, don't waste your time.
I got flamed one day cause I was forced to play only support Tidehunter. I didn't even get anything for myself till bout seven minutes in due to my team making me buy everything for them. Not just wards and courier but also smoke, dust, and sentries due to them playing idiotically against a Riki and TA.
Was forced to farm and stack ancients without anything for gear due to them being greedy. Then they start calling me a noob for not having anything.
Yet I ended up turning around fights late game due to my ult and later refresher ult. Our Medusa would pop her ult and go yolo into the enemy 5 man and cause that idiot thought he could solo the entire team. I kept him alive long enough for his ult to turn the enemy to stone so he could finish them off.
Got no love from them cause they blamed me for all their deaths and all their bad choices. They got mad that I was even farming ancients for gold and xp. Not my fault that they were four carries; three of which were squishy.
Even at the end they still flamed me even though I was better geared and higher lvl than all of them save for Medusa.
Long story short. You will never get any respect when playing solo.
@Firehusary - My nickaname is currently: "noob", so I guess it shouldn't be the case. He never (as far as I know) called me a noob, so it rather wasn't bothering him. Again - he was not mad about how I was playing. It makes it even more... weird.
I am from Poland too, but I changed country of origin on Steam profile to Netherlands. I figured it would be a neutral country for Russians or other flamers, because it seems that they dislike Poles a lot. Well, I changed it to not be prejudiced towards me by anyone.
@Zerosaviour - I wouldn't say you can't get respect playing solo. In most games players are neutral or friendly, gotta admit that. We just especially remember those terrible flamers.
I once went for Alchemist hard support in 5 players vs. bots game and people were so amazed they all gave me commends and added me to friends list. That was really nice.
Now also change your steam name to: Daan de Jong.
Its the most popular first name of 2014 + most common last name in the Netherlands. XD
But if you wanted a completely neutral EU country i would probably pick either Belgium or Luxemburg.
I dont think many russians actually know this but about 2 years ago dutch police arrested some russian abassador because he was hitting his kids or something, russia was mad because he was supposed to be completely immune against arrest. Which is weird as **** when you think about it.
