The internet lags in a crucial phase of the game (LD has to be saved and i discon, resulting in his death).
I am doing so much so fast, juggling between a super important phone call and defending 2 v 5 (playing all 3 disconnected heroes), that I my mind is slowly melting.
suddenly the phone is taken away from me, my friend talking on it, making excuses, a group of friends giving background voices to make it sound genuine. All other PC's are deliberately shut down to give my PC maximum internet speed, a mate's gaming glasses are deftly placed over my over-strained eyes (had been playing Cs 1.6 before) because they are squinting.
A pool of bystanders slowly forms around my seat, nobody is speaking, any question is met with a quick slap on the head, a signal to stay quiet. As my ancient explodes and I slowly close my DoTA 2,A look of sheer disillusionment in my eyes, a volley of colourful insults targeted towards the people who disconnected starts, a pack of smokes produced from nowhere, gentle pats on the back accompanied by,"you did good" and "you did all that you could" are said to calm my turbulent mind.
As the last twirls of smoke vanish into oblivion, I realise that this is why I play dota 2 with these people, hell, this IS the reason I play DoTA 2.We say our good-bye's for the night and head home for the day, the memories of out brotherhood fresh and eternal...
wherever I go in my life, I will always be looking for a Cyber cafe, because these are basically street corners for gamers (ours even has a stove for late-night mac-n-cheese,Tea or maggi, and a refrigerator for soft drinks) and the memories made are long lasting.
I haven't seen an Internet cafe for years in Poland. I guess it's not a great investment, since anyone who wants to play has PC/console and internet on his own.
But I played some CS and Tibia some time ago as a kid. Those were good times...
Why America you can'ts haves eenternet cafe? Volvo plees buff America
Hard to keep that type of business where people have their own computers/laptops/tablets/consoles at home. No point to lan since that was mainly to get together with friends and play a game together. Online multiplayer killed that and with voip programs available there was no incentive to go to lans. If people really wanted to host a lan then they'll just bring their computers over since at least in America, most people have at least a computer at home. Smartphones also killed the need to go to an internet cafe to look up information so the market for internet cafes diminish even further.
Rambling on because I've had so many memories playing CS 1.6 or DotA at internet cafes :/
about $1.5 for 2 hours. fully Air conditioned for the weather, Razer Kraken headphones, Logitech G 602 mouse, Goliathus control cloth mousepads. The works.
The Pc's are 3 years old, but still work like a dream.
edit: in reference to nub's response; it is not as if we people don't have PC's at our homes too, it's just that we love to play together so much that we don't let the cyber cafe die :D.
The cafe is managed by 3 people, all of whome earn about $800 from the business every month. very respectable if you ask me.

That's a labor of love and a PT business. Nobody in America would run a FT cyber cafe at that price-point.
Another problem is that in the US we have a number of businesses that offer free internet access. Everyday people are simply not willing to pay for temporary internet access.
