INTRO

1st off Viper is one of the best middle lane carries in the game period because of his scale ability throughout the game and his awesome ability to gank early, often and forever.

It's simple when ganking let your poison do the talking and your allies the nuking.

ITEM JUSTIFICATION

Power treads
- why treads? Simple you need the 8 strength and 25 atk speed more than any other item period.
*Why 1st? When you'er in a lane and the enemy hero decides to get a little aggressive your poison(atk/move speed reduction) coupled with high move speed will make him wish he/she didn't.

Vanguard
- EASY! survivability 6hp regen + 275hp boost and +dmg reduction. viper has to be alive to spam poison.
> > I often substitute Hood of Defiance 8hp regen and 30% spell resistance a good trade only if you have a tank that acts like a tank.

Yasha
has gives you a good bonus to move speed, agility aka dmg and atk speed. (Part of Manta Style)
Heart
- +40 str (760hp boost each point +19) + 300hp(1060total) and 2% total hp regen

Manta Style
+26 agi +10 str +10 int +10% move speed and you get 2 illusions.

EARLY GAME (here little fella.. I just want to play)

Stay conservative use the mule to grab tangos as you need them and buy the rest of your boots.

Once you hit lvl 5 complete boots or no be sure to get belt of strength 1st hp helps allot then start ganking look for a lane or the hero in front of you that has pushed too far up and make them pay for it.

Use Poison Atk and slow the **** out of them

DO NOT SET THIS TO AUTO ATK

because you will run into mana problems. just hit Q and use it when needed.

Your poison attack is OP early because of the move speed and atk speed reduction, plus it becomes very easy to spam.

Starting Items:

Boots + Tango - Simple when you hit level 5 your move speed/poison is all you need to catch your victim and slow him/her to death and/or run for your life.

MID GAME (you aint goin no where!!!)

This is where most people throw the best attributes of viper away. Viper is a team carry not a solo carry. Meaning that when he is around fellow heroes he becomes more effective.

As viper, spamming poison attack can reduce the atk and move speed of the entire party by as much as 40% and your ult dose from 40 - 80%

Spamming is done by attacking the top 2 or 3 heroes once back and forth repeating this until all your victims fall at your feet. I don't care what hero you are that's a huge problem.,this gives your team a huge advantage in a fight.

Be sure to grab Vanguard and Yasha you need the move speed and atk speed of yasha and the hp from the Vanguard to be able to stay relevant in team/hero fights and the yasha is a good step towards Manta Style.

I often replace Vanguard with Hood of Defiance if I have a tank that is tanking, the hood is a wonderful thing to have especially if the other team is nuke/magic heavy team. It's funny watching the other team cry when you take almost no Damage from the enemy nukes.(This is a Zeus killer)

P.S. I usually rush Vitality booster 1st part of the heart right after this for the 250 hp boost.

(Purchase in what order suits the game.)

LATE GAME (OHHHH happy dayyyyy!!!!)

At this point you're in full swing spread poison around in team fights and find heroes dumb enough to go out alone and make them pay. Use manta style (illusions) and slow them till they die, and if they want to fight good luck your Heart will insure that there choice to stay was the wrong one.

(Purchase in what order suits the game.)

Just because I Hate you. (Situational)

Blade Mail
- For those up and close melee victims your build (hp regen + slow) and makes this item all the more deadly to them. ie: riki, Ursa, Lycan. (This is my least used item)

Gem of True Sight
(reveals invisible units) - enough said I usually don't die often with this build and find myself with room and money and riki hates me. (most used)

Crystalys
- For when your team isn't doing enough dmg or your just pwning too hard and have the money.

Hood of Defiance
- I usually replace vanguard with this when nukes are everywhere.

Shadow Blade
- this is very situational I almost didn't put this in the guide. People use Shadow Blade[/b to kill heroes by getting in and out instead of escaping or maneuvering. This makes Viper a show off solo hero instead of the base reason why you always win team fights. Shadow Blade is easily countered by many items and cost a lot of money spent better elsewhere.

Bad ITEMS

Wraith Band
- no real benefit early the damage in poison attack is enough for early game and if you want hp go with bracers.

Aghanim's Scepter
- Why? your poison attack handles the slow and all this dose is increase dmg and reduce the cool down. Viper is too squishy to rely on pure damage.

Shadow Blade
- this item is a curse in most peoples hands it should only be used aggressive when in team fights for position not and excuse for solo hero killing. Shadow Blade is too easily countered by alot of cheap items.

Butterfly
- too expensive for the befits, as viper you want to stay alive in a fight to spam poison attack to reduce atk/move speed not deal damage and also the chance to miss is not enough.
