Well, you did read it. Let me tell you support Sven is a blast! Just hear me out and check out my guide.
You pick support Sven in situations where your normal supports such as: Shaman, Mirana, Disruptor, Bane and others can't handle the heavy damage being put out by the opposing team's carries.
Plus with the recent upgrade Sven received with God's Strength it is quite a handy investment!
In the lane process you have to be the big buff babysitter. With Sven's stun being so strong, reliable and mana efficent as an easy ganking initiator, he can become very handy in pesky dual lanes or rough tri lanes.
Remember to keep the denies going as much as possible!
The biggest complaint for a Support Sven is his mana capability. With him being in the support role, he doesn't need items like Mask of Madness, BkB, Halberd and whatever else kids these days purchase for him.
Once you have a soul ring all those mana issues go away. Let's say you're in a situation where you need to land a Storm Hammer in order to secure the kill, stun the gankee or prevent your carry from dying, Soul Ring and BOOM instant Storm Hammer, rinse and repeat.
