I think the part about "no flash farming ability" in the pros&cons is a big error.
Terrorblade is one of the top flash-farmers in the game, definitely sitting up there with Anti-Mage in terms of farming speed. Why? Because your Conjure Image illusions should be farming for you on their own the whole time. Just spam illusions and have them farm jungle and lanes. A single of your illusions can clear hard jungle camps, and a single illusion can even clear the ancient camp on its own when you have a few items.
Terrorblade can reach 700-800 GPM easily simply by farming jungle and lanes with illusions, even without Radiance!

As you asked, i took a look at your guide, I play a PRETTY agressive tb, but he is far too squishy to be mid lane material, sure you have got a slow, but what would you do against a qop or puck who are more mobile than you are.

So my views -

Laning: He is a good dual or trilane safe farming carry, you can play him mid, but only against selected heroes.

Itembuild: Your way of itemising is not that much beneficial. He is a squishy illusion based hero, what he needs is stats(raw dmg is not giveng to illusions). Even without damage items or any items for that matter, early game TB is way more stronger than any hard carry can be even after 15 min. Metamorphosis, plus an icredible slow and insanely strong illusions(the best non-ultimate ones in the game) make damage items on him more or less a luxury.

You should fill up the gaps in a hero and play on his strengths to be succesful. TB lacks HP and gap closing ability.
The way i like to play him is with bracer ,treads into drums then yasha or bkb depending on the time. Sometimes i get a blink dagger if i feel comfortable enough with my survivability.

As for Lux or Dmg items i would not recommend raw dmg items or raw survivability items.

With your high agi gain(second highest) you have insane armor and attackspeed, so an AC doesnt boost your EHP as much as a heart , skadi or satanic would.

Also rather than making a SnY a better idea would be to go for drums into a manta as it saves money is up earlier and is far better worth per unit gold spent.

SO these are my basic views.


I was going to add a Drum for the guide, but only if you are having a bad game. The price of this item is great, but it's not a good damage item. So I get a Bracer when I am having bad farm in a hard lane or I get an Ogre Club for Sange and Yasha as all of the stats it gives are great for Terrorblade. There aren't that many carry items that benefit illusions greatly. Especially those that are viable on TB.

Ogre Club and then Yasha is gotten so you can choose whether to make a BKB or finish of the Sange and Yasha with the Ogre Club you get. Your options with the Bracer are not that big as it can only be turned into a Drum.

Other than the above paragraph, I think that you have hit the nail on the head.

Yes, unfortunately this is what makes him not viable in the mid-lane and needs to be a carry of sorts in the Safe-Lane. If they have a strong midlaner, a roamer is always good to help making the middle lane easier.

Why don't you try a couple of games of Terrorblade mid? Use a similar build to mine and just go offensive as much as possible. Try to play an aggressive ganking style with aggressive rune control and see how good you go. Remember to utilize Sunder to the best of your ability.

A strong midlaner isn't bulky. Go offensive and try to make kills happen.

I have made a hero matchups section since you have commented and I recommend you change lanes or stay out of their way. Remember they are fragile. Get some ganks off from a roamer or support of sorts such as Crystal Maiden or Bounty Hunter. As mentioned frequently, denying runes is the best you can do from receiving the nuke damage. Remember also you are one of very few that can make illusions, this makes denying and scouting runes a breeze. You could also pickup a bottle on and put the pressure on with your combo. Come to think of it, there are no illusion heroes that go mid. This brings a new playstyle of the Mid Lane in my opinion.

Do with this guide as you feel. This is how "I" like to play TB. This is meant to be moulded into the build you want it to be. I just want to give general tips and item builds. Make your builds your own :)

NOTE: I also noted and changed the skill build. I focus on learning for a while and then playing for a while (I am on the learning side atm) and forgot how I played TB :P

This is interesting, i would like to see a pro player take him mid and see how they like it before i try it, but very interesting. A critique I have of this (or a question really) is why don't you max metamorphosis by level 7? In the mid lane, you illusions don't need to be a high level, buecause you are using them to scout runes, and deny if need be. So the second point in the illusion is null i feel.

Sunder should be gotten at level 6 in most circumstances, even though nukers are not present.

General guide is nice, but I feel it could go into extra sections and maybe a bit more detail.


This will be worked on over 3 months time or something. A lot more work will be put in. Thank You for the comment. Also as you are play Mid Lane. I like to get sunder at that higher level as you will be getting level 10 nearly as quick as a duo-lane TB. My opinion though.

I like to see every item/skill build situational rather than a cookie cutter build (Morphling exception).
