Sven can cover the roles of support, carry, hard carry, tank/initiator (if built right) and ive even seen a jungler at one point thanks to Great Cleave. I guess it depends on how your team is set up and what role you need to fill in.

great guide. I am pretty comfused by the sven's role in a team. Yea, years back this outcast warrior is used as a support in dota 1. Everybody picked sven as a support stunner. His job , simple : stun.
According to one of the sven video by Purge Gamers on Youtube he even built "good ol' sven stunner build" where he max storm hammer first.

But sven has been nerfed up really hard. And all the professoinal ,famous hardcarry players like EG's fear , dk's burning, empire and Notidehunter are taking this powerhouse sven into hardcarry role. This hero had been ban or pick of many tournaments.

Yet, i still see people has preconceived idea of seeing sven as a support stunner. In pub, one traxex bluntly told me all i needed to do was stun and let her do the job. And most of the pub matches, they dont know that sven can carry. However, i must say some very knowledgeable players who are up-to-date with dota scene know that sven can hard-carry. In one match they even stack ancient for me to farm.

So, imo, sven can be support and hardcarry as well? anyone knows ? Pls enlighten me

Also armlet + mom + god strength = pwnage( professional hardcarry sven build) btw. I used this build and i had seen teams cleaved to death by my sven's outcast blade. I had turned the tides of the game when i get my armlet.
And of cuz those who dont know sven's carry potentiall were shocked speechlesss when i get my armlet and start dicing ppl up.

I will try this sange build and see. Definitely less micro than armlet build though.

PS; i also hate it when u are the only stunner on ur team and ur team lose and they start piling blames on u saying u cant stun, just because u got silenced or died before u can stun!!

Of course it's still viable, he needs to attack and deal as much damage as he can, that's why the critical chance and damage from Daedalus is good for him.

Even if they removed 30% from the critical damage, it will still be a lot of damage.

I still think this is viable, its just that its not gonna be like a Kunkka mega swing. Deadalus was nerfed from 270% to 240% and crystalys' bonus damage was nerfed from 35 down to 30. Let it be noted that Daedulus' recipe will now cost 200 less.

Maybe you should check again. In my book going from 35 bonus damage to 30 is a nerf.

Not sure if you're up to date on the patches, but in the upcoming 6.77:
Sven gets nerfed, Crystalys gets nerfed, Daedalus gets nerfed.

The whole "Ult, swing for the ultra kill" build is pretty dead now. The guide itself is pretty well formatted, and provides some good information though, I'll have to do some play testing and see how ineffective or effective Daedalus now is.
