Background story

Sven is the bastard son of a Vigil Knight, born of a Pallid Meranth, raised in the Shadeshore Ruins. With his father executed for violating the Vigil Codex, and his mother shunned by her wild race, Sven believes that honor is to be found in no social order--but only in himself. After tending his mother through a lingering death, he offered himself as a novice to the Vigil Knights, never revealing his identity. For thirteen years he studied in his father's school, mastering the rigid code that declared his existence an abomination. Then, on the day that should have been his In-Swearing, he seized the Outcast Blade, shattered the Sacred Helm, and burned the Codex in the Vigil's Holy Flame. He strode from Vigil Keep, forever solitary, following his private code to the last strict rune. Still a knight, yes...but a Rogue Knight

Quoted:
Bitter the orphan's journey--and lonely the orphan's grave.

Introduction

Sven the Rogue Knight is a versatile melee strength Hero with high physical damage potential and an effective disable. He can be played in many roles, though he is mosty known as a support or a carry. While Sven is a strength Hero, he uses his spells to gank and often kill. Sven is an item-reliant Hero, as he needs farm to advance into the late game, but his ultimate causes him to grow to be a powerful hero as the game progresses. He is a great support in the earliest parts of the game, can excel as a ganker in the midgame, and, with enough farm and kills, he has a potential to be a strong late-game carry. Due to his many roles, he is classified as a semi-carry. He has great crowd control and a very high damage potential thanks to his ultimate, which makes him a great carry. Once activated, few can withstand the almighty strength of the Rogue Knight.

Sven is one of the most underrated hero of Dota and few people know what is in store for them, till they face the rouge knight.

Items

Following the purchase order,Sven will become near-invincible,however item can still be argued over one another like for example

-Power Threads VS Arcane boots VS Phase boots

This is a very common problem for most sven, however the boots i recommend is power threads. You may argue that phase boots will give extra movement speed to move to the enemy and arcane boots will give mana to be able to spam stun to dominate the lane. However with power threads,it only give you a measly 8 damage and some attack speed.Take this into perspective with the item build and skills, you got drums of endurance, war cry and mom, this will give you 514 movement speed if all activated, therefore making phase boots really irrelevant. Some may argue that with phase boots ,you can hit 522 movement speed, however take into account the attack speed given by power threads that sven need and that 514 is already enough to chase majority of heros.Yes MOM will give enough attack speed for sven to kill but having more would not hurt since you already have damage outburst from God Strength.

-Mask of Madness VS Helm of Dominator VS Vladimir Offering

Another common problem is lifesteal.3 Different Helm,3 different stats.Mask of Madness,IMO>both helm of dominator and Offering. The extra attack speed and movement speed make sven one of the scariest hero when MOM is popped alongside God Strength, however in my skill build i placed completing MOM only after completing bkb as MOM would instantly make you very vulnerable be it to any hero with nukes or normal attack. With a bkb,MOM will achieve maximum potential with God Strength and Warcry.Helm of Dominator will only give 5 armor and 20 damage. The armor could prove useful but the damage is just really redundant since Sven damage come from God Strength.Vladimir offering will help to allow you to have an orb effect .But rarely does sven need an orb effect unless you intend to go Desolator Or Eye of Skadi.

Mana weakness
-Sven is very dependant on mana and this is when people will choose soul ring. However my build chooses bottle because when you get drums, your mana pool considerably increases and bottle will allow you to recover both hp and mana both essentially useful to sven

Skills

There's many way for Sven to build his build around.

Firstly theres the Stat build where one only add one into war cry and cleave and the rest into stun and stats. This will allow a player to have enough mana pool to support spaming of stun.My build, this will allow you to control well be it creeps or hero, the extra mana pool will allow you to harass your hero with storm bolt which deal alot of damage!

Secondly, theres the max cleave and stun way. However this is highly not recommended as it will push out your lane due to the 65% cleave and would put you in danger and feed the opponent exp that you cannot deny.

The others are really self-explainatory ^^

Team Work

Sven works with almost every hero.He is one of the best game initiator and support. With his stun and warcry,he can almost support any hero he lanes with .

On a side note,if you have all your luxury item, teamwork does not count. You're a one-man-army knight.Just gear up and go your crits will be 1.5k+,your enemy will be falling!

Creeping / Jungling

Early game
Creeping is your best friend, however your new enemy is your skill great cleave where if maxed 65% of your damage is cleaved. This will prevent you from controlling the creep equlibrium and push out the lane putting you in great danger. However, you add one into the skill to harass any meelee hero in the lane and it will only destroy the equlibrium by abit

Mid Game
This is when you will most likely have your mask of madness and maxed your great cleave. This is when money will flow to you.You can either choose to jungle or lane however,be wary of the map and if pushed out too far, retreat into your jungle and come out when your creep is pushed again.Repeat till items are farmed

LATE GAME
THIS IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE.GET OUT OF THE JUNGLE.GET UR MASK ON,GET YOUR KING BAR OUT,SLASH YOUR SWORD.COLLECT THE ENEMIES HEAD!!! For BETRAYAL!

Summary

This is my first guide and hopefully you guys can comment about what can be improved in the guide and if my guide sounds abit childish,im sorry im 16 :D

On a side note here are 2 pictures :D

My sven is 9win/1 lose ! UNLEASH YOUR POTENTIAL USE THE ROUGE KNIGHT!
