Absolutely great guide. Was doing my AHC and played nightstalker for the first time. I followed this guide and I ended up with 12-8-13(bloody axe stealing my ganks >.< ). Once I finish my AHC Balanar could become my new favourite with a little more practice. :D
I think you can consider to take a maelstrom on Balanar, the recent buff on hunter in the night (Increased Hunter in the Night attack speed bonus from 45/55/65/75 to 45/60/75/90)coupled to his really good agility growth makes it a very good item on him because of his really high BAT.
This also speeds up your farming abilities during the day and may be interesting versus illusion heroes.
Against illusion Heroes then yes, I would definitely consider a Maelstrom, and probably go all the way to Mjollnir. Definitely more so than Battlefury, as cost-to-damage Maelstrom is very efficient, which kind of suits Balanar's style... it's a possible pick-up instead of an Armlet.

You can't say that it isn't an incredible guide. All of the content is there in force, and is awesome. Plus the humor.
Quote: "Trying to defend a tower at 4:45 from a Night Stalker and his buddies is about as fun as swallowing razor blades, and only slightly less fatal."
An excellent guide. Usually, I have large amounts of criticisms about guides. Not this time, actually. Maybe adding the links with double brackets, and using the Icon function would be nice, but the content is so good that I didn't really notice.
I loved NS back in the day, then for a while I was convinced he is the worst hero in dota 2. In the last few months I've really enjoyed playing him again, and this guide was a great read for me at least. That said, need to put in something about aghs. It's rare that I don't build it on ns these days as you become so much more utility than carry late game. One of my favourite things about it is to be able to spot out initiaters from a ways away and have the silence qued on them before they even blink.
And yes, I'll call you crazy. Bfury is for farming, NS is for ganking. No match. :C
He has to farm a lot to be of any use in the lategame though(it wouldn't be a problem if you would pack him like fat utility aura carrier, but the thing is he's your #2 and you MUST be useful lategame).
Anyway, why would someone need to assemble Battle Fury on the guy when you have amazing Mjollnir?
Have you ever tried Battlefurt? Call me crazy but it allows you to clear ancients and destroy in teamfights, especially if you have a disable like Static Field to keep the whole team in range. Great guide, I was going to make one but seems you got it covered! +1
its pretty much the normal build though, and you need those 2 points in hunter for the first night. a very early point in fear is situational.
Pro tip: don't level up your passive before night time, just leave the skill points ready to be spent. If you need your silence to secure a kill/escape a gank then level it when you need it. Otherwise, level your passive at 4 min.

cpfran6: Surely you mean Kinetic Field?
