Little about me and why i wrote this guide

Hello and welcome to my first guide! I've been playing Dota 2 for over a year now. My primary role is all those Intelligence Semi-Carries such as Invoker, Tinker and Windranger. Here's my Dotabuff if you interested in that kind of stuff: http://www.dotabuff.com/players/95517825

Anyways lets get started. When new hero comes out in Dota 2 I have this habit to think and learn "Can this hero be played in mid-lane?" Don't get me wrong here; any hero can be played mid if you that good in lane control like Dendi (please don't go mid with all heroes in your pub games because of me).

What makes a good mid-hero?

Lets take a little look at Windranger. She has amazing lanecontrol ability due to Powershot that can be used many ways: Securing last hits while harassing opponent, pushing lane to get rune control and nuking the **** out of everybody early-game. Windranger also has decent escape with Windrun.

But then why is Invoker who doesn't have any spells at lvl 1 played mid so often?

Invoker's powerfull mid comes from all the solo experience he can get from mid-lane. He likes experience more than he likes gold, and he will turn unstoppable if manages to outlevel everybody early-game. Sunstrikes are great help for that on Exort build for he also gets experience from those global snipes.

Okay then, what makes you think Oracle will be such a great mid-laner, isn't he a support hero?

Well yes, he is a support hero but so is Windranger. Next chapter will talk about mid-dominating with Oracle.

Dominating Middle-Lane

Oracle has good BAT (Base Attack Time), Decent Damage and he is ranged. You can also buff this with his amazing skill called Fate's Edict that you'll want to take first level on when going mid.

Fate's Edict is amazing skill that costs only 50 mana (not a big deal on intelligence hero) and has a cooldown of 12 seconds. It also disarms your opponent for 3 seconds at level 1, gives him 100% magic resistance and increases the damage he takes from other attacks by 50% at all levels. Disarm and 50% more damage from right clicks by casting one spell that costs only 50 mana and has 12 sec cooldown? Have fun playing against Oracle with Shadow Friend.

It's not even hard to use, just cast this spell when first creep on your side gets low enough for enemy to last hit him. Fate's Edict has cast range of 700 and it is instant making it easy to use ruining enemy mid-laner's CS (Creep Score). You can then choose to deny the creep you prevented him from last hitting or throw couple of auto-attacks on him for increased damage.

That's all information you'll need for winning your lane.

About SkillBuild

This guide will not be about how and why you use his spells, i'm simply focusing on mid-role but i thought you might want to know why im leveling Fate's Edict over Fortune's End.

Only thing that scales when leveling Fate's Edict is the Duration, but why do we need that duration? Well first of all Purifying Flames Has CD (CoolDown) of 3 seconds and maxed Fate's Edict last for 6. That makes you able to cast Fate's Edict on yourself (or on your ally you selfish bastard) and cast Purifying Flames twice during that 6 sec durationg for massive heal. Other reason is that the slow duration of Fortune's end doesn't scale so why not cast that first (best after teammate stuns enemy making you able to channel the full duration of Fortune's End) and then cast Fate's Edict to autoattack that slowed opponent down.

Items

[Urn of Shadows]
You should gank alot when able to, Fate's Edict is great skill to autoattack anyone down with your teammates after nukes and stuns are thrown. Cast urn on same person you cast your ult for double-heal.

[Orchid Malovelence]

Really nice 25% damage increase and silence, but be sure to cast this 1 sec AFTER you cast your Fate's Edict. Why? Orchid deals the increased damage at the end of the duration as MAGICAL damage. Fate's Edict gives 100% magic resistance so it would be waste if silence from orchid ends during Fate's Edict.

[Blade Mail]

People will learn that you need to get truesight to counteract Oracle's ult and then just burst the target under False Promise and watch him die few secs later. Your ult has low CD and you'll be using it on yourself too and Blade Mail will make enemy Lina think twice does she want to cast spells on you.

[Helm of the Dominator]

This sounds good on paper, double heal while under the effect of your False Promise. Haven't tested it yet but if it works the way we think it's definitely core.

End

Thank you for reading my first guide! I know it's pretty short and i'll improve it with your tips and thoughts about my guide. Please comment, rate and have a nice day! :)
