You read that right. Please tell me if I have some mistakes, and give me some tips on guides. This is my first guide ever and read on if you must. -Garfield
Hi! My name is Garfield and welcome to my guide on the little-murdering scarab, Nyx Assassin. For old-timers, he was formerly known as Anub'arak or Nerubian Assassin in the original DotA. Nyx Assassin is a melee agility ganker who specializes in casting his skills and items in order to own all who opposes him. Anyways, this is my first guide ever and English isn't my first language so please feel free to express your feelings in the comments section. For a better look, here is DotaCinema's introduction to Nyx Assassin:
Deep in the Archive of Ultimyr, shelved between scholarly treatises on dragon cladistics and books of untranslatable spells, there is an ancient tome of entomological curiosities. Compiled by scholars, the book describes the telepathic talents of the zealot scarab, a strange species of social insect with abilities unique to all the seven planes. Unlike most grubs of his colony, Nyx Assassin did not arise from metamorphosis with the plodding thoughts and blunted appendages common to the worker caste of his kind. For his was a special transformation, guided by the grace of Nyx. He was the chosen one, selected from the many and anointed with an extract of the queen goddess herself. Not all survive the dark blessing of the queens chamber, but he emerged with a penetrating mind, and dagger-like clawshis razor sharp mandibles raking the air while his thoughts projected directly into the minds of those around him. Of all zealot scarabs, he alone was selected for the highest calling. After his metamorphosis, he was reborn, by grace of Nyx, with abilities which shaped him for one thing and one thing only: to kill in the name of his goddess.

Impale
The reason why I maxed it first is because it's really valuable, if you don't have that stupid stun then it will probably be an unsuccessful gank. Although some are quite successful, it's much more safer with a stun landed on the face of the hero you're killing, no?
Mana Burn
This is why you're feared by INT heroes, and that's why it's maxed 2nd. Even if it's a powerful nuke, the damage depends on how big the hero's intelligence is, and might not be that effective to the likes of Brewmaster, Juggernaut, and so on and so forth. But if you're in luck and the other team consists of INT heroes or heroes with high INT gain, you gotta go with my "Casters.. casters everywhere..." skill build.
Spiked Carapace
The gank is counter-ganked, your mates died, now you're dying and being chased. What will you do? Well, this skill is the thing for you! Once you activate this skill, it will be an insta-stun for the first person who dares to touch your arse. The lvl 2 Spiked Carapace will be enough against those people who just can't stop harassing you, and the lvl 7 for those annoying overturned ganks.
Vendetta
This, my friend, is the reason why you're feared by squishies and low HP heroes. You will rip through their HP like its nothing but paper, so get it whenever you can. This can also be used as an escape mechanism, with the bonus speed it gives you, they won't be able to catch up even if they have Gem of True Sight or Sentry Wards. Yes, they may stun or disable your *** but you won't let that happen, do you?
