Meepo is by far one of the best late-game carries because of his ability to scale well with his ultimate. He is sort of a surprised pick because no one expects a meepo and hardly anyone plays him because of the intense micro he required. However HE CAN BE PLAYED WITHOUT MUCH MICRO TOO! Surpise Surpise.
I'm not by far the best meepo player ever but i do like to play him.
Have started to play him since 2 months back and have gotten really good in my opinion.
aww doesn't he look like meepo? No? But he is a rat thing and he rats in a swarm and and.
Lets get on with it
Pros
-Melts people at almost any level after 3.
-Very Good Farmer if managed well
-Better split pusher than Tinker
-Doesn't give a **** when 6 slotted
-4 Armor at level 1
-Can comeback when shut down early
Cons
-Just dies to alot of AOE or Single Target
-Alot of clicking and tabbing will be involved
-May get carpal tunnel syndrome
-Its non-existent in the game unless you get some tanky items
Earthbind
CASTING METHOD: ACTIVE
TARGETTING METHOD: AREA
ALLOWED TARGETS: ENEMY UNITS
Meepo tosses a net at the target area, ensnaring all enemy units in a 220 area. Ensnared units cannot move, blink or go invisible and it interrupts channelling.
Lasts 2 seconds.
Casting range: 500 / 750 / 1000 / 1250
Mana Cost: 100 Cooldown Time: 20 / 16 / 12 / 8
Note:
-This does not prevent skils to be used except blinks. It interrupts channeling abilities but by no means can it stop others from using spells in their nets.
Poof
CASTING METHOD: ACTIVE
TARGETTING METHOD: POINT
ALLOWED TARGETS: MEEPO OR MEEPO CLONES
After channeling for 1.5 seconds, Meepo instantly teleports to the Meepo or Meepo clone nearest to the targeted point, dealing damage both at departure and arrival locations in a 375 AoE.
Damage : 50 / 80 / 110 / 140
Range : Global
Mana Cost: 80 Cooldown Time: 12 / 10 / 8 / 6
Note:
-Can clear entire creepwaves with 2 meepos at level 7
-Damage shown is for arriving or departure. So if you poof at the 1 place without going anywhere, you'll deal 280 damage at max poof as 1 meepo
-Use like there is no tomorrow
Geostrike
CASTING METHOD: PASSIVE
ALLOWED TARGETS: ENEMY UNITS
Meepo's basic attacks will slow enemies and deal damage over time for 2 seconds.
Meepo's attacks cause a debuff that slows the enemy and deals damage over time that lasts for 2 seconds. This debuff stacks for multiple Meepos.
Slow: 5% / 10% / 15% / 20%
Damage per second: 7 / 14 / 21 / 28
Note:
-Goes through magic Immunity
-Stacks with other meepo
-Nice DoT at max with 5 meepos 104 damage/s without basic damage
-100% Slow with 5 meepos
OH BOY HERE IT COMES
Divided We Stand
CASTING METHOD: PASSIVE
Meepo summons clones of himself. These clones can gain gold and experience as he does, but the clone cannot equip items, although they will always have the boots that Meepo has equipped. Can be levelled at 3/10/17.
Summons 1 / 2 / 3 (* 2 / 3 / 4) clones.
Reduces respawn timer by: 10% / 20% / 30%
* SCEPTER UPGRADE : Clones receives 100% of Meepo's stat bonuses instead.
Note:
-Get whenever possible except the last point where it can be delayed by 1 level
-Clones are squishy without Aghs, Careful
-When 1 dies, everyone dies
Blink Dagger
This is very essential for meepo because of the blink poof initiation or the ability to blink up to creep waves and destroy them to push.
Power Treads
This gives good stats to all meepo. Make sure to change threads for the right use
Strength -> Tank (Leave it here)
Agility -> Damage (Normally for pushing towers)
Intelligence -> Poof (Its small amounts of Mana saved, but it adds up)
Phase Boots
This gives added early game damage + Speed boost when activated.
This is essential for midlane because it helps your clone to make it to stack camps
Ring of Basilius
This gives good mana regen overall for the meepos because he needs it early game to push and farm.
Leave this on for tower pushes.
Aghsnims Scepter
This is a must get because of the +1 meepo and the increased stats share
Overall = Tankier
Heart of Tarrasque
Holy **** 1k health extra to your main meepo and alot more to your clones? Whats not to like about this item <3
Boots of Travel
Each meepo has this. EZ Tinker rip off.
Eye of Skadi
Gives more health to your meepos. More health to your clones = Tanky tanky tanky!
I normally play meepo as sort of the little time bomb that will explode. Here i will discuss 2 types of style i'll play meepo
Early Game
Safe lane
-During safe lane, just normal last hitting until you get a level of Divided We Stand.
I'll send my clone to the small camp and do the following. SPACE + (SHIFT + CTRL + A + CLICK) + (SHIFT + CLICK AT BASE). This command will send your clone to the small camp, poof then kill the camp then go back to base. This can be done to a certain extent
- Another way is that i'll send my clone to the Medium/Large camp from the lane at xx:24 and stack the camp at xx:53 or xx:56 depending on which camp.
- Once I get my Treads and 3 stacks of camps, i'll send everyone and kill them all. This would boost you to around another 1k more gold, closer to the Aghs
Middle Lane
-Basic Last-hitting and then once Divided We Stand is up, send the clone/main to the large camp and stack it at xx:53. SENDING the meepo from lane at xx:28.
-After Large Camp is stacked, stack the medium camp closest to lane at xx:56.
-Continue Safe Lane play-style
Offlane
-The 2nd set of tangos are unnecessary when dual-laning
-Just don't die
-Sap as much EXP as possible until you have Divided We Stand
-Once Divided We Stand is up, go for Last Hits
-When 1 meepo gets low, send him back to the fountain
-When he heals up, Poof him back in lane and sort of "recycle"
-Once cores stated above are up, continue with the Safe-lane playstyle
-You can stack your own camps while sending your low health meepo back
Mid Game
By now you should have Aghsnims Scepter and your 3rd clone, 4 in total.
Do roshan solo!
How? By recycling.
Recycling to Rosh
By having 1 meepo in base, you basically can do an infinite loop of meepos to regen.
Here is a step by step guide
1. Buy a Smoke of Deceit
2. Teleport to the nearest tower to rosh (Preferably a Tier 2)
3. Pop the Smoke of Deceit
4. Walk into pit
5. Poof all meepos in EXCEPT 1 which will be in the fountain
6. Start whacking Roshan
7. If 1 meepo gets low, poof him back to base
8. Then send the Full health Meepo back to the pit
9. Repeat until Roshan is down
TIPS: Make sure to use fountain regen to your advantage ^_^
Late Game
So you made it this far huh? Its time to Meepwn and begin to start Ratting. You should have these items
1.Aghanims Scepter
2. Boots of Travel
3. Blink Dagger
-Start by Teleporting into 1 lane and destroying that creep wave
-Blink Forward and repeat it THIS IS OPTIONAL
-Teleport into another lane using you other meepo and poof there to destroy the lane
-Repeat until T2 is done
CONDITION
If you see your team needs help winning a fight, don't bother unless you got Heart of Tarrasque by being there without your heart, it is free food for the enemy team, be helpful and kill the rest of the Tier 2 towers.
AFTER HEART
Haha same thing as last time rat it out. BUT now, when your team needs help, you BoT in and give the team the smackdown of meepos
OR
you see a potential solo pick off as someone is trying to split push. You go after that guy, remember to Earthbind!!
Below are the 2 videos i have created to show how to solo rosh.
Make sure to change the quality to 720p to see everything clearly!
Soloing Roshan as Meepo by "Recycling"
Note:As you can see, I always have 1 meepo in base and kept poofing. I also bought a Smoke of Deceit + Teleport Scroll first before heading into the pit to prevent anyone from knowing.
Ratting as Meepo if you don't know
Note: I bought Boots of Travel and teleported to the top lane and brought everyone up there to destroy the wave. As soon as i saw the other wave, i blinked forward using Blink Dagger and poofed that too. I repeated this process Mid and Bot lane.
By all means go to the source video and watch. Sry about the lag at some points though
Part 1
Part 2
Well this is 1 game from me. Unfortunately, i did not do the solo roshan trick because we were very behind and roshan was too strong for me to take down. BUT i did the rat dota here very effectively. Anyway, you see my meepos are always grouped up, hardly do they split. This also shows the good COMEBACK mechanic Meepo has in 6.81
This is my meepo guide. Thanks for reading. I'm sorry for the lack of pictures but that will soon change as i find the time after my exams.
I'm not the best at meepo but i feel people who want to learn how to play him can start here.
I'm here to help anyone and everyone to not be afraid to try meepo because he is very fun.
Note:I will add some videos
