Let me try that! - Rubick Semi-support guide

Introduction

Here, I'll give you some tips about Rubick and his playstyle, keep in mind that this guide contains some troll-ish and "just-for-fun" items, so don't be too...well you know it.

Pros / Cons

Pros:
-Great disabler
-Makes the enmy team fearful of using their best spells
-Great counter-ganker
-Good nuking power
-Imprevedible
-He's the f**ing Grand Magus

Cons:
-Squishy as hell
-Difficult to master
-Mana intensive

Items

Starting items:
Not much to say about it, just buy some combination of Tango, Clarity and courier/wards if there aren't any supports

Early game items:
Bottle: Take the bottle only if you are going mid(if no other mid heroes are there), if you're not, it is still a good choice, but not obligatory, because your mid hero will probably need the runes more than you.

Arcane Boots: Almost always, arcane are the boots of choice for Rubick, 'cause he's such a mana intesive guy.

Soul Ring: Not a bad pickup if you wanna spam the sh** out of your Fade Bolt early game.

Urn of Shadows:If you are planning to gank and roam a lot in the early stages of the game, also the extra strength is good also the mana regen.

Core items:
Force Staff:Force staff is ABSOLUTELY the first item you should get after your early game items, it allows you to initiate or to escape very efficiently, and Rubick is REALLY squishy so having this is sooooo useful

Blink Dagger: I like getting the blink dagger after the force staff, because if you can use it properly, you will become untouchable, you could just escape from every situation, it will generally give you a terrific mobility, and help you use some spells like a stolen RPolarity or BHole.

Eul's Scepter of Divinity: Gives you some much needed mana regen and a perfect disable to set up easy kills, plus a great movement speed boost. When you get this combination(Force-Blink-Eul), you will become the hardest hero to kill on the map.

Mekansm:You can buy this before the Eul`s scepter and the Blink if you`re going full support, because it will give you great armor boost and great heal that will save you and your team more than once, but if there's a WR or a Lion in your team, let them build it

Scythe of Vyse: If you have a lot of gold, build it after all your other core items, it gives you a great disable plus a great mana regen. Obviously it's pretty difficult to farm, but if the game is going in his later stages(50-60 min) you'll probably have the money, because a lot of teamfights will happen.

Drum of Endurance: Drums are a great pickup, giving you great stats and extra movement speed passively and with its active, I normally skip it, cause I always rush the force staff -blink, but you can get it before if you are getting pwnd.

Luxury Items:
Ghost ScepterIf rightclickers try to f**k with the Grand Magus...
buy this baby and they won't be able to attack you for 4 seconds.

Boots of Travel:If you are in the enemy base trying to bring down the ancient, this is really useful for teleporting back if you die.

Orchid Malevolence:Really useful item to get, gives good damage and attack speed (not that you really need it),and great mana regen, plus a great silence.
Pick this up if there are a lot of casters in the enemy team. I think this is situational, because you have a lot of disables with your core items and your skills.

Rod of Atos:They can try to escape from you. They can TRY!

Situational items
Bloodstone:I don`t like going for the Bloodstone, because it takes so much time and money to build it that you could use for your core items, so purchase it only if you`re doing tremendously good, and have a LOT of gold to spend.

Helm of the Dominator:Dominate a creep and stack ancients for your carry.
Situational, maybe if your carry is a Gyro or Sven or anyone with Battle Fury. You take this so you don't have to go and do it by yourself, 'cause you are really a teamfight guy thanks to your ultimate and you always wanna be there.

Hood of Defiance:If the enemy team is destroying you with magical damage, and you wanna take to the next level your resistance to it...

Troll-ish items
Dagon:If you just wanna have fun, or you are doing particulary good, buy it, it is really great when enemies think they can escape, and then suddenly...ZAP! 800 damage nuke at level 5, again just if you have gold to waste ;D

Ethereal Blade:If you have gold to spend, and you wanna just have fun, and you have stolen an high damage nuke, like Lina`s ultimate, you could get it, but it`s VERY situational, just to have some LOLZ

Heart of Tarrasque:Feel squishy? Get this baby, and you can tank for your team :D
Not even try to build it if you haven't at least 4000g in the bag, for a big win in a teamfight.

Veil of Discord:Just to make sure that your nukes will hit them hard, also gives some nice hp regen and armor.

Skills

Telekinesis
Great disable, perfect for setting up kills in every moment of the game. Use it to initiate by picking up an enemy hero and throw it towards your team, or near enemy heroes, because when he will come back to the ground will stun enemy heroes in a 275 AOE
Also good for trapping on hills :D

Fade Bolt
Max this first because is your main nuke, and don`t be afraid to spam it a bit(not too much though), during the laning phase of the game, because of the damage reduction, that will make last hitting for your opponents a real hell

Null Field
Really underrated skill...great magic resistance for your team in a 900 aoe

Spell Steal
Your signature skill, try to steal the big AOE teamfight ultimates, like Ravage,RPolarity,BHole etc. Don`t be too cocky on stealing spells thou, because you can easily get killed by trying to steal spells...and don`t try to steal ONLY the big aoe ultimates, sometimes just a stun could be enough. If needed try to steal an escape spell if you are in a bad position, for example Shukuchi it's a really easy spell to steal, because Weaver spams it every time is off CD, and it's a great way to get out of trouble

Ok you should be leveling your skills followin almost always this order(you can adjust it a bit if you need to):
Telekinesis at level:1/4/7/9
Fade Bolt at:2/3/5/8
Null field at:10/12/13/14
Spell Steal at:6/11/16
Stats after you have maxed out your skills(don't take any level of stats before you max everything because your skills are just too good to skip)

Conclusion

So that's it, Rubick is one of the most fun heroes to play with, thanks to his ultimate that will allow you to use the best spells of the enemy(hooking a Pudge is pretty LOLZY)
Let me know if you liked it, and if you do, I may add some more info about the playstyle ecc.
See ya!
