Introduction

This is my first Guide on DotaFire and the goal of this guide is to demonstrate the situational player that is Jakiro. Jakiro or Twinheaded Dragon is a very easy hero to play with great stats and a ridiculously game changing set of skills. Popular amongst almost all pro teams and widely regarded as the best support (who doesn't get banned ever) he is a force to be reckoned with. In this guide I will focus on PUB or Public game strategies as this the majority of those reading these guides are not pros. That being said all of the strategies can be carried over into competitive play.

Skilling Explained!

Skilling any hero in Dota can be a tricky proposition. The key to remember is when you will be using the skill and for what purpose. With Jakiro the key to success is early damage, and late game set ups.

Jakiro can earn an advantage for your carry by removing heros from the lane, or outright killing them, removing them from the lane however is a much more sure thing.

In my builds I always have 1 consistency.

Maxing out DUAL BREATH 4 seconds of 30% move speed slow, and 20% attack speed slow is huge and with a low mana cost and high damage and a DOT its the best laning skill you could ask for.

Ice Pathseems to be a very polarizing skill with Jakiro, I recommend maxing it before Micropyre but after dual breath because its scaling doesn't give you a hard advantage. The damage is flat at 100 from lvl 1 and it never improves. Stun, only gains .4 secs a level and at Max its shorter than almost every stun in the game. Great skill, just not the most important skill to have at level 7.

Liquid Fire, in some situations if you have a great team and you want to focus on pushing, 1 point in Ice Path at level 4 and then maxing Dual Breath followed by Maxing Liquid Fire will give you a ton of pushing potential and towers will fall. If your carry gets some early kills and is already roaming the map killing with out you, Max Liquid Fire its a very Pro Move.

Micropyre, oh Micropyre, within 3 hours of posting this the first time I had 2 people say I messed up and didn't skill the Ultimate at 6. Here is my explanation. Micropyre is obvious, completely World of Warcraft stand in the fire type move. The use of this ability should be reserved for taem fights and lane control, its not a ganking ability therefore you should save it for the MID to LATE GAME, thus skilling it at 10 and 11 PLUS when the other team hasn't seen a MP the entire game and you throw one when they are stacked on your TIER ONE and don't know what to do you will thank me.

Early Game

Step one buy your early items, if no one on your team buys a courier be last to purchase items and go ahead and pick it up. You are not money dependent and when the game breaks down into roaming and ganking stages your dual breath + liquid fire can guarantee about 200g per wave without even the skill of last hitting.

Jakiro can lane anywhere but I prefer to play him in the safe lane with a hard carry, this enables you to deal a lot of harassment since you will not be the focus of the other teams attacks. Use Dual breath only when you can hit a hero(s) and skill liquid fire at 2 to ensure that if someone is low after a dual breath and your partners attack that they will die a fiery death. Skilling Ice Path at 4 allows you to pretty much finish anyone around half health and with Dual Breath being pretty meaty when you hit level 6 the 400 Damage combo + the DoTs and any damage your partner can dish out will spell trouble for the enemy.

Pub Tip:
Don't chase kills if you removed them from the lane that is victory enough, if you push them to their tower and they are baby sitting land a liquid fire on the tower and back off.

Hopefully by the time you are level 8 you have Arcane Boots and hopefully are nearing the completion of your Mek. Those 2 items are really all you need to be successful.

Mid Game

Now that you are 11 and have the 2nd rank of Micropyre, roam the map with your team and finish every kill you see.

The point of your abilities are to catch enemies out of sequence and let your team light them up.

Windrunner runs up to throw a shackle, ICE PATH. Ursa runs into your group, Micropyre, ICE PATH, Dual Breath.

They will either have to back or die, there is no other option. The key to fighting with Jakiro is don't be first and don't be last, maximize your output by hitting as many heroes with your spells and compliment your carries by doing the damage in the middle of fight.

Pop the Mek and then Boots after your first round of spells.

Cast order should always be Micropyre>>>Ice Path >>>>Dual Breath>>>> then Right click heroes near each other or the tower.

The most common mistake Jakiros make is casting Ice Path then Micropyre. This is wrong for 2 reasons, 1 it gives players time to adjust and less time for the Micropyre to tick, it also wastes valuable time you could be moving into cast dual breath.

By casting micropyre first you start the damage off and then Ice Path directly after will keep enemies in it, Dual Breath follow slows their escape ensuring certain death.

Late Game

It is seriously the same thing, farm lanes if you are pushed back see the items to buy when you are losing.

Items to buy when you are winning are things like Bloodstone and Orchid.

1. Because a Silence and Damage amp to add to your veil of discord is just plain fun.

2. Long pushes into the enemy base with Bloodstone ensure you can just choke them out by camping right outside their racks laying out Micropyres never running out of mana.

3. Aghs just adds to the amount of havock you will cause.

When you are losing. Farm the lanes that are pushed to your base with a quick dual breath and ice path incoming heroes to get quick pick offs. Save MP for pushes on your buildings and will result in CREEP GOLD and Dead Heroes.

Get items that are cheap and provide survivability.

Shadow Blade is fun and gets you out trouble. Same goes for blink dagger. Eul's will isolate a hero and allow you to lay MP and Ice Path to blow dudes up.

Friends and Foes

I see this section a lot in these guides and I personally think in pubs any character can be countered by safe play and items.

However, characters that give Jakiro are hard time are, characters with Heals who can counter act all of his damage over time, since he has no real burst.

Enchantress is a nightmare, being a hero that thrives on punishing you the further away you get make sure you take it to her and have your team to back you up, Impetus will trash you.

Invoker, so many ways to hurt you and with a blink dagger and force staff he can just beat you senseless.

Juggernaut, Bladestorm....

Anti-Mage, do I need to say anything?

Characters with silences and stuns obviously neutralize his effectiveness.

Characters that Jakiro owns, Melee heroes without stuns or regen.

Squishy Castes with no snares.

Stealthers

Ursa, his effectiveness against Jakiro is completely muted, Ice Path Dual breath and Micropyre will kill him before he can even hit you, get caught out by him however you know you are dead.

Bloodseeker, yeah he is fast, but how fast can he kill you when you stand still with rupture on you surrounded by your Micropyre?

Heros that Jakiro likes to lane with.

Hero's with stuns or big nukes.

Sven, Sven/Jakiro safe lane is almost as awesome as Sven/Lesh safe lane, double stun, tons of damage and tower crushing abilities.

Drow Ranger, Nub hero I know, but in Pubs, Jakiro + Drow = a win.

Vengeful Spirit, need to land a skill shot cast it on venge and let her finish them off, Netherswapping someone into micropyre while you ice path the rest of the team is amazing.

Thanks

The formatting may suck, but the information itself should allow anyone to pick up Jakiro and really make an impact on public games.

Let me know what you would change or like to see added, or any item mistakes I made.

I am continuously learning how to Code and color this so if there is any advice or critiques you have please let me know.
