I dont like the vanguard at all. If there's a ds on my team, I always expect him to rush mek and pipe. If there are no reason to build a pipe, (often the situation in newb pubgames where every1 pick a melee hero) get a shivas/aghanim/schyte.

Vanguard is just such a bad item. bloodstone the way to go if u dont like to die.

This is a nice guide, well-formatted and with the right objects: if you want some suggestions, you could talk more about Dark Seer's playing style and add a "Friends & Foes" section.
You might want to add a Scythe of Vyse between the situational items, too.
